I kind of thought Wilson was overrated out of college anyway. He's got the arm strength sure but the stuff he was doing last year was against a soft as baby shit schedule. I think he benefited from that making him look better than he actually is.

Also, in regards to the decline of defense. Welcome to modern sports. Almost everything has put focus on being a high scoring product. The only fans they really want are casuals and normies and that defense shit has got to go for those queers!

Am I the only one who is just plain bored by the NFL these days?

Almost every game feels like the winner is determined on which team has the final possession of the ball. Scores have been running up high on both sides of the ball with almost every game, and it feels as if the defenses have no impact on the game whatsoever anymore.

Well this TNF game is 14-6 in the 3rd quarter and I'm bored as hell so...
The game is far more favoring to offense you guys are absolutely right about that but I'm sorry touchdowns are fun, huge runs are fun, back to back 3 and outs aren't. The old school big bloody defensive rough and tumble bruiser games used to have a certain excitement to them but idk not anymore

I miss the days of long drives that would last almost 8-9 minutes and tough defenses. The last defense that I consider to be really good-to-great were the 2015 Denver Broncos (during Peyton Manning's final year). Since then, defenses have not impressed me. Lord knows the defensive performances in the Super Bowls ever since have been subpar at best. The most memorable Super Bowl in recent years, to me, was when the Falcons hilariously choked against the Patriots, but that wasn't because I was so enamored or impressed by the game itself.

Roger Goddell is truly ramming the game into the fucking ground. The defenses aren't nearly as effective because of all the unnecessary rule changes that keep piling up every year.
You're not wrong. But the leagues survival does depend on the game being safer. Guys blowing their heads off in schizo episodes isn't good for PR. I've always said get rid of the modern helmet, it's a false sense of security. Go back to the leather helmets without facemasks, and return the game to form tackling and running the ball. The constant passing is dangerous. One of these guys will end up paralyzed on the field because of a stupid route that some moron coach thought would work.

Doubt Otto would agree 🤣

I think that has more to do with the Texans relying on a 3rd string rookie QB and McCaffrey being put out of the game in the first half.

Matt Rhule has a very methodical style of football and it isn't the most exciting playcalling to watch, especially when you don't have your most dynamic offensive player on the field for the majority of the game.

I'm just not seeing variety anymore.

(Who doesn't love it when their defense is explosive and knocks people on their asses, by the way? I certainly love it when that happens.)

Love or hate the Dirty Birds, but Lamar Jackson is about as entertaining an NFL player as you'll find these days. 'Course he's probably going to get hurt and that'll be that.
Eventually, yes. Kyler Murray is also likely in the same boat. I expect them to go longer in their careers then say RG3, but a QB who runs and gets hit that much can't have a great shelf life.

Lamar does a lot more of the hitting then RG3 did. The man stiff arms people out of his way and lowers his shoulder in to incoming players. I don't watch enough Kyler to know if he plays similarly or not, but if he runs like Lamar they'll be fine until they get too slow to run effectively.

The Chargers are playing impressively versus the Chiefs, forcing fumbles that they've picked and turned into two touchdowns so far. They missed the PAT on their first one, so they yoloed a two-point conversion on the second and they pulled it off. Oof, as I typed this, they just sacked my boy Mahomes big time. This team might finally be a contender this year, and my Chiefs will fall below .500.

LMFAO. Cardinals go for a 68 yard field goal ??? it gets returned for a 109 yard touchdown.

They pulled that win out of their ass but they did beat the Chiefs. They're contenders without a doubt, assuming they can cut down on their offensive penalties. Herbert is the most reliable QB in the AFC IMO. It's hard to see him constantly getting cucked out of touchdowns.

On the other hand, being a Lions fan continues to be nothing but suffering. How fucking cursed does your franchise have to be to lose on that field goal?

The amount of success Matthew Stafford is having on the Rams is insane. Statistically he's off to an MVP caliber season, I'm glad to see things finally working out for him.
