I'm so naive I'd never even heard of ayahuasca until it was associated with Aaron Rogers.
Not directly related to the NFL, but if they go big to some streaming platform, broadcast TV and basic cable in the USA are completely fucked. And I think everybody knows it at this point, that live sporting events is the one thing keeping them afloat. And the most important piece of that being the NFL.

This gives a rough idea of the 100-year plan for sure. You've got some regions like UAE that make sense as far as being fucking loaded, some that make sense like the Saints and France, then some that are lulzy like the Browns and Nigeria. I also enjoy Dallas only having rights to Mexico. They're "America's team" afterall.

Richardson may not be developing and taking himself out of a game is a super bad look both outwards and inwards, but I haven't heard any leaks from the Colts org anywhere near as damning re: his work ethic as the blank playbook incident with Jamarcus
Browns are more likely to be willing to let go of Pickett, so probably either him or they pony up for Kirk Cousins. Now that Irsay's not around I can easily see Ballard going back to old habits of trying to duct tape his roster/keep his job with washed veterans.

And so continues the tradition of a Superbowl winning former Philadelphia quarterback going to Indy. I think it's likely they ship Pickett off somewhere before the trade deadline, if nothing else to make their QB room less schizophrenic. Flacco took them to the playoffs, It seems likely if all else fails he's their go to.

The Browns are prolly a bit more willing to move Pickett over Flacco, but Flacco is the more logical pick considering he was on the Colts roster last year and Ballard/Steichen need to be competitive right now. Cousins isn't a horrible idea either, but compensation talks will definitely be interesting. (Well, it is a bad idea, but maybe 4th time or w/e is the charm?)
I mean, this is even more of a "do or die" year than usual for Ballard. It really comes down to whether Carlie Irsay is gonna run with Jim's modus operandi or treat this shit seriously, and I'll lean towards the latter for now. TBH, it wasn't like Jim Irsay was a bad owner in the usual sense either. He just trusted the football guys to run football operations to the team's detriment, but Carlie was groomed for this role for a while now, so I'm optimistic. Not a Colts fan, but I am a Tennessee Volunteers and have a soft spot for Peyton Manning. Plus they shit on the Titans for a good, long while and I thought that was pretty cool.
But things are definitely working against Ballard if the team isn't markedly improved this year.
- New owner
- The head coach 'had his shot' after 3 years, so there aren't any qualms pulling the trigger there.
- Assuming Anthony Richardson doesn't play well, or at all, they've got no franchise QB.
- Currently the 9th youngest team, so it's not like they can lean on that excuse.
Then there's the schozofrenic pipe dream of being in the Arch Manning sweepstakes. Probably not this year, but next year. I'm not saying the Colts will purposefully tank either of the next two years, but that'll absolutely be a consideration in the back of their minds even though they'll never admit it.

Yeah, that one is surprising. I'm assuming there has to be an NFL fan contingent located there, but not sure how that happened. My only other guess is teams factor in the effort to market shit and generally do business there and teams are already familiar with Swiss finance. I'm also kinda shocked about the lack of Nordic countries because I would have thunk the Vikings had a presence there.

A good 75% of the league's GMs right now are banking on drafting a generational talent at QB to save their franchise, which any other given year is pretty delusional to begin with. And generally it hasn't been a cure-all since they still need time to develop or are thrown into a team with absolutely nothing going for it, with the expectation they're just going to fix everything for them immediately, sometimes both. So I expect every franchise that's not set at QB, and hasn't been a contender, to just focus all their effort on tanking for Arch over the next two years.
In essense, expect everyone who's not the Bills, Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs, Commanders, Buccs, and Lions, 49ers, and Packers to play terrible football, more terrible than usual if you can imagine that.

The problem with tanking is that we only have a rough estimate at best of what next years draft class will potentially look like. There is going to be a whole upcoming college football season where players can make names for themselves and those who already have could potentially fall depending on their performance in it. Arch Manning may not even end up declaring for the draft next year, he may decided to spend one more year in college to really iron out his experience level. That and possibly make a decent amount of money given the recent NCAA ruling.
This is one of the reasons why it is so hard to build and develop any professional sports team. It is impossible to plan that far out ahead when you have no idea what your available talent options are going to be down the road. You may push off the matter of picking up the right QB, the right pass rusher or any position on the team for next years draft when the talent is available now and won't be next year. And even if it is available next year, you may not be in the position to acquire them.

It's not like Jaire is leaving on bad terms, though that changes if he signs with an NFC North team. Could be worse. Like an Aaron Hernandez jersey. I got my brother an autographed Kareem Hunt football shortly before he was cut from the Chiefs for beating that woman.

Aaron Rodgers is the best option imo. The QB class was absolutely shit this year as was the FA QB class. What the fuck else were they gonna do?
His daughter has crazy eyes. She's either going to terrify the team into to shape or turn it into a toxic dumpster fire.
JaMarcus was the single biggest waste of physical talent in NFL history. That guy was huge, fast, and could throw the ball 60 yards accurately. Watching him play at LSU was incredible. He even had moments in his rookie year with the Raiders that made you think he would be something before he completely gave up trying.

Go back in time, not run Pickett out of town, and try to develop him instead. He's not a high end starter or anything, but he had Matt Canada, a new coordinator and QB coach, limited weapons, and got hurt all in two seasons at the Burg. I assume some of it had to do with attitude towards the org, but they didn't exactly set him up for success. The Colts-esque carousel they've been on is proof enough they don't know what the fuck to do with QBs who aren't first ballot HoFers.
I kinda feel bad for how things went in Philly because he never got a fair shake from the fans. We all wanted The Mormon Missile to be #2, but he got a ring out of it and has had good things to say about the organization after leaving.
