College doesn't stop for coaches. Even after the natty and "off season", coaches are on the recruiting trail or trying to get kids from the transfer portal to the school.
So they should be nice and skinny after engaging in all that activity, eh?

I am having a flash back to that year last decades where so many players were injured and also to whichever year the recall was so bad ao many games were ruined by it including the SB of that year

The Jets front office is clearly thinking long-term, and could possibly get the first overall this year as well from their own pick.
There’s a Jets podcast I listen to somewhat frequently (the Jets’ trials and tribulations are endlessly fascinating to me; I am far from a Jets fan) called Badlands. They put it put pretty good recently saying that is year zero for them. As a Detroit fan with no ill will towards Glenn (Ben Johnson is a different story entirely), I’ve silently been hoping he can turn it around over there.

I think they’re going to be top 5 in cap space going into next year, and I think they’re going to make a trade for a bridge QB for 2026 in the off-season. Everyone who more closely follows CFB than I (I only really watch Bama every Saturday) says the 2027 QB class is phenomenal - on par or better than 2024. I really need to see how Bama does in the playoffs but I really do like Ty Simpson for the Jets. I know it’s a chalk pick but he’s looked great for the last 2 months. I also understand this is his only year starting, but he spent a couple years fighting for that starting job, or at least hanging around that Alabama organization. I think Glenn has job security until the end of 2027, granted there’s not a monumental collapse or fuckup in there. There’s a lot of positivity around the Jets which is funny considering their record.

Half of NFL GMs have a tenure of 4 years or less. Mougey / Glenn are in year 1, and having a first year GM and Coach has an advantage if they can convince ownership that this is a 3+ year project where they need the first 2 years to rework the roster rather than being in win now mode. You look at the Raiders with Spytek / Carroll where they clearly don't have the patience for a full rebuild and keep on trying to win next week rather than next year. If they judge Glenn based on his coaching record in year 1 and year 2 rather than the roster turnover, creating a winning culture, and putting themselves into position to win the AFC East in 2027 then their ownership will sabotage it and they'll never attract winning GMs and coaches.

Its the Jets. If he and the GM still have a job in 2 years be shocked. Bad franchises don't have patience, it's why they're bad franchises.
