This "Marteen" person also has an inexplicable music career, since they were a child. At one point they were being marketed to the KPop audience for obvious reasons, but is now more of a Justin Bieber type.

Some pooners do, they shoot for "redneck with a beer gut and dad bod" look before they're even 25 because they always thought they were ugly and they hate themselves. Identify out of being a woman and suddenly they don't have the pressure of being attractive but their self esteem is still in shreds, so they don't bother becoming well groomed men and neglect themselves further until they look and smell repulsive.

Its like a feedback loop, they poon out because they are depressed and hate themselves but only get worse which makes them poon out harder and their physical state keeps deteriorating until they turn into smelly genderblobs

Imo, you are right on the money. A lot of them do have a genuine desire to transmogrify themselves into a fat, malodorous greaseball. I find these pooners come in one of two flavors:

Most of the ones I know of who deliberately attempted to become a grease blob are (usually) heterosexual women who are genuinely attracted to fat hairy men. It's the same autoandrophilia that drives the "I wanna be a kawaii anime twink" straight women into taking the troonshine, only instead of wanting to become a twink, they want to be come a bear. It is not uncommon for these women to be into extreme fat fetishism, and, while weight gain is common in women taking T, these types will often change their diet solely to put on more weight. Ergo, they are pooning out to LARP their fetishes to the extreme.

Type 2 are usually lesbians (or at the very least, sheltered bi/hetero women with very little experience hanging out with actual men) who mistakenly believe that "fat hairy slob" is the default male (never mind all the neckbeard jokes people toss around on the internet like a hacky sack). These types often hang out with Type 1, who reinforce the false idea that being disgusting is how men work ("TMAM, you bigot!"), so it turns into a circle-jerk of delusional women slowly killing themselves with wrong-sex hormones, hardened arteries, and enough acne grease to fry an egg in.

In the new Evangelion dub, Shinji is voiced by a theyFAB, which also seems in line with the historical use of them.

It's a traditional pantomime, and women traditionally play the role of Peter Pan. It's a shame that this isn't still common practice because I think it'd be a great way for teen girls to understand that there is no point in Pooning Out.
