I think it's because their facial features end up looking (at best) as an underdeveloped man's, which is one of the things we associate with Down's. Pooners might pass "better" because testosterone is a hell of a drug for women, but they still don't develop into males.

Yeah Ive heard contradicting stories myself, the fact is even if they had kept him alive against his will they would deny it because it makes them look like monsters.
Its not so much they "tortured" him as their treatment and repeated interventions to keep a man with zero chance of recovery and in unimaginable agony alive, had the same result as torturing him.
The bottom line is with the radiation dose he took he was a dead man, hooking him up to a ventilator in the first place was inhuman and completely morally repugnant, he had no chance of recovery, the kindest, most humane, and moral way to act would have been to give him a massive opiate overdose, "to ease his pain" of course with the side effect that it would sedate him and depress his breathing so he passed peacefully.
You're not giving him the dose to kill him, you're doing it to sedate him, it just has the side effect of stopping his breathing.
He had no chance of recovery and was in a situation where he would only get worse, and at some point the way the radiation works meant that they wouldnt be able to get a line in because his veins wouldn't hold up.
Hooking him to a machine to force him to continue to breath, and repeatedly intervening when he went into cardiac arrest was the act of absolute souless cunts with zero empathy for the agony of a man who was going to die anyway.

I think a part of it aside from everything else is there are a lot of girls for whom being a girl sucks and they imagine their personality traits and appearance would work better socially and romantically if they were boys. If you're insecure and shy on top of being not much to look at, a frumpy sense of style, and a propensity to pack on extra weight or on the opposite end being thin but stick shaped and awkward...yeah. That is the loser demographic of girls and women. They have a lot of anxieties about living up to life as a woman.
