Lovequest The Relationship Vows

"-to fully maintain honesty and loylty (sic) to you at all times, now and forever. Even when and if I should feel need for a break, or to find fun with anyone else, -I vow to inform you of such times and with who, and all other details. of such"

Chris was upset about Catie being in an open relationship, did he expect Catie to be ok if he found another girl to be with?

Maybe he's like that Reddit guy who wanted an open relationship then was shocked and pissed when his girlfriend got tons of action and he got none. He might have figured that Catie would keep herself pure for him while he tribbed all over town.

I honestly don't think Chris thought it through. Or, if he did think about it, his porn-fueled mind probably thought she'd find a girl she wanted to bang and ask him to join (Catherine is bisexual, yes?)

I just thought of something (this may better go in the Random Thoughts thread, I dunno), but is Chris past demanding his sweethearts make cartoon avatars of themselves? We haven't heard of Catherine having a fursona, so maybe this is something that dried up with Princess Ivy.

If classic Chris was doing the relationship vows, he probably would have included drawings of Chris-Chan Sonichu and Catherine's avatar-critter on the vows' manuscript.

I really would like to see Chris in a real relationship, so he can see that its not all rainbows and blowjobs. If he thought Bob caused more agurments then flies on garabge wait till wifey finds out he blew 500 on legos.
Actually, I don't know if that'd be as surprising a situation as you'd think. Chris is very experienced with being henpecked. Kacey? Or basically every day with Barb?

Chris is completely fine with an overbearing woman. He doesn't want a happy relationship so much as he wants a stable one.

Did he ever really demand it? I thought that was just something the early trolls did because they were posing as "fans" who did fan art.

Maybe "demand" is the wrong word; I do remember that he specifically asked Ivy if she had a cartoon avatar, though.

He bought his amnyfest ring for graduating Mancherster High.
Fixed.

Just want to stave off any confusion by pointing out that these things are purchased. They aren't granted to graduates as part of the diploma package. Not everyone buys one.

Class rings are really out of style in the US. Most people who persist in wearing them are working class/former athletes, generally who didn't go to college. Though sometimes if it's a very elite high school (e.g., certain boarding schools) the grads might continue wearing their class rings. But even then, the rings have gotten pretty uncommon.
They're really out of style among people who have moved on beyond high school (i.e. not Chris). But the class ring industry keeps chugging along because their market isn't those people, but rather hordes of young, naïve high school graduates still flush with their inflated sense of accomplishment. They'll wear them to graduation, and maybe for a few days after, before tossing them into a drawer somewhere and forgetting about them. There are a lot of high school rings stuffed in drawers around the country.

Slutwalk is a protest march of sorts, which means it's easy to get lost in the crowd. The only social interaction I can imagine is if Chris decides to make his own placard... and if he does bring his own placard, I can't imagine the social interaction would be very pleasant.

Learning has to come in stages. Even if he doesn't talk to anyone it would still be Chris stepping out of his comfort zone. He has to do that before he can even begin to develop some real social skills. Of course one of Chris' big problems is he expects the end result immediately without doing the legwork first.

Well yeah, it's easy to find his account once you know it exists.
But given the number of weens out there, it's pretty much a given at least some of them would occasionally check the site just on speculation. Once one of them knows about his account, they'll all know about it. If you don't know who Chris is he tends to blend into the background as just another weirdo, but if you do know who he is, he stands out like a sore thumb.

Weens also played a big part with Wallflower, though. At least according to the CWCki.
Only as a catalyst. The end result was inevitable.

Actually, they don't! And that's my whole point. It's a combination of too few weens, plus they expect Chris to stick out like a sore thumb, so they don't look hard enough. If it wasn't for people like me leaking stuff, Chris is smart enough at this point to actually stay hidden for a long time.

This is the crux of the problem. Chris wants to rocket past the friendship part of the relationship to get right to the soul mate, lifelong commitment, replacement mommy bit.

Again, I'm going to bring up The Wallflower as an example. He barely knew her, yet he took the liberty to plan dates and visits (him hanging our at her place, of course). Anyway, I'm going to stop there, we all know how things turned out.

I wonder if he has a sense that he is 32, has never been able to find a girlfriend, so he can't afford to waste time dicking around with the early stages of a relationship. Not that that is good logic, but sometimes I get the sense he is thinking something along those lines.

That's a good point. And I think the idea of "once one of us knows something we all do" may be overblown a little too. I have to confess that I noticed the OKCupid profile a few days before it was posted on here. I use the site semi-regularly, and would look for Chris on it every now and then just because. I didn't post it right away for a few reasons. Mostly I didn't really want to play the role of content creator and it seemed that someone else would post it soon. I may have posted it after a couple weeks if noone else had, but I may also have forgotten about it or he might have taken it down before I had the chance.

I still think a dating profile would eventually be discovered and posted on here. But you have convinced me that he might well be able to have one for a while in peace before that happened.

He doesn't need to stay unnoticed forever, just long enough to get some use out of the account. And really, after he's discovered, he can still use the account if he's a bit more careful about screening potential dates. That's harder for him than just not getting discovered in the first place, but it's still possibly workable.

Huh. I assumed one of them just went on a fishing expedition. I remember the leak was more just that Chris might possibly have an account, not what that account was, and then people went looking for it, but I'm probably mistaken about that. Of course if the weens weren't fishing before, doubtless some will be from now on, at least until their ween short term memory lapses.

Which is kind of sad when you think about it, because around 32 is when most men start noticing the dating landscape changing for them, and they become less desperate, not more.

I was talking about weens, not us. One of the defining characteristics of weenery is their tendency to blurt out anything they might find to anyone who will listen to brag about their "ebik ween trollin skillz". The rest of us are a lot more circumspect (or at least I like to think so).

Marvin's probably right, though, that for all their lack of discretion once they might find something, the majority of weens probably are too stupid or lazy to do the legwork to get anything in the first place. At least unless they are lucky.

It would probably be posted elsewhere first. And I don't think any account Chris might have would immediately be made public, just that it eventually would (if Chris doesn't leak it himself first).

And really, after he's discovered, he can still use the account if he's a bit more careful about screening potential dates.
For a limited definition of "using the account". Chris' difficulty with dating sites isn't just him screening out trolls to find bona fide single women. There's also the matter of bona fide single women screening him out that he has to contend with. We eventually learn of Chris' long term interactions with trolls, but we don't hear about most interactions he has that aren't with trolls. I would be surprised if Chris hasn't had at least some minimal contact with non-trolls on dating sites, but I strongly suspect what contact there was was limited in scope and short in duration. That brevity makes it even more likely they'll remain under our notice.

Woah, can you imagine the content of Chris' prenup?

I honestly thought that Chris would start getting friends, or at least acquaintances, with his/her recent outings, but nothing seems to have come out of them. And judging from the communication he holds with Watermelon (?) and those others who pretend to be friends, friendship is still worthless to Chris. No matter what vows he/she writes, no matter how secret he/she gets an OkCupid account to remain, empathy is not something Chris has ever learned to have for others, making every single try to attract a woman to be literally a waste of time.

If anything, at least you got what is essentially two Sonichu comic pages, sans the floating heads that populate its white spaces, but with the same kind of inane content you would expect.
