Unfortunately I would guess no. If you're a fucked up freak, you're gonna want power to get away with it. I think the 20th century in the west was the worst it's ever been, because the US was the most powerful country that's ever been. Not because those people were uniquely evil, just uniquely powerful.

My schizo theory is a relative of nominative determinism: just like a name changes people, so do your own clothes.
The fun part is that while wearing a suit or dressing like some kind of ancient european nobility makes you mantle them, it also applies the opposite way around and dressing poorly makes you a lesser creature.
If you run around with oversized baggies, trashy grey sneakers and look like a wigger, you become trashy and gay.
The absolute most fun part of the schizotheory is that chinese and japanese people regularly cosplay as ancient figures or warrior-poets, and the ones that do it the most actually slowly become them.
It’s fun because it’s based on my personal experiences, and thus impossible to really disprove.

Being around schizos on the daily, their actual takes are either generic slop talk about Putin/Trump/Kuzzinski and the deep state, or "Bill Gates has hacked into my bank account and blocked my rent payments", but in complete sincerity.

"Everything but shoes and hair is excusable". Nicely cut and styled hair, good leather shoes that don't demand too much attention, (and a fit body), and you can basically wear whatever. It truly is clothing making the difference. I've shopped a lot of nicer clothes but I don't naturally wear them. If I'm going out I don't wear a shirt and sweater like the grandpa does. The grandpa who wore suits since 14 and take great pride in his looks.

1. Because men in suits are men in suits, while men in dresses stay as men in dresses and they botch the mantling hard. Never said it was reliable lol

I think you are interpreting the "clothes make the man" as a cause and not a symptom. People are genetically predisposed to certain behaviors, whether they realize it or not. So you get a form of transference from related behaviors to make up for their lack of true vision and goals. See: 30 year old girls who have 5 dogs because their nurturing instinct for children has been replaced by a reasonable facsimile in their mind.
