The "Boxart" for this kit is also very low-effort, as EA is now incorporating 2D art, instead of the renders used in previous Sims 4 DLCs:

At least they correctly represented the diversity of bodies. A fat negress and a hapa troon with a fairly normal looking white woman. Though knowing modern EA they're probably all supposed to be men.
Oh joy, Rachel Franklin is back. The original "visionary" of dumbing down The Sims.
At least she's not actually doing game design. She's on some weird, cringey "trust and safety" type of diversity program.

The troon on the right seems to be Latinx. Not very woke of them to feature a hapa because they're white adjacent.

Good. Hopefully EA gets the balls to kick Grant Rodiek out next. She's influenced him for the worse, turning him into a wokie dismissive of player concerns. Sadly, it doesn't look like he has any skeletons in his closet like Daniel Z. Klein did for EA to justify firing him.

I'll be honest, I don't really care for the pronoun update but I find the backlash for it a bit weird. Sims 4 (sims in general, really) is a life sim. A shitty one, but a life sim all the same. Makes sense they'd eventually add pronouns. Hell, if people didn't see this coming when they added trans and non-binary options then all I can say is that they're both blind and foolish.

Personally, it's less about the pronouns being in the game and the fact that more important features - like making babies more than dolls with a crying function, diversifying life states like adult and adding content and some level of difference and fun to playing older sims, giving families and friends and romantic partners more shit to do - are getting ignored for several years and getting a pronoun update before any of that or even trying to add more shallow features to the game cycle.

Something that every person playing could benefit from is passed over in favor of a couple loud wokies being upset a few dialogue options read she instead of zir.

One big telling moment about EA's priorities was when the gender customization (aka being able to make troon Sims) feature was released, before Toddlers and Firefighters were re-added to the game.

I can see CallMeKevin to use the pronoun thing for his character Jim Pickens as Dear/Leader
Don't dissapoint me Kevin

I really wouldn't care if Sims 4 was in a good state, especially because it seems optional, but the game is a buggy mess that is still missing basic features. This kind of thing allows the Sims team to get away with the game being terrible by scoring brownie points, like when they introduced the skin tone update and that allowed them to ignore the larger calls for the return of Create a Style. I'm also somewhat worried they'll completely ungender certain terms due to laziness, like father or mother.

Because all this stuff is super low-hanging fruit that's essentially UI changes.

- Gender customization- just a few toggles in the Create a Sim menus
- Pronouns- just a few changes to the language strings + a new menu

- Toddlers- Requires actual gameplay, new models, new voices, etc.
- Firefighters- Requires actual AI, new models, etc.

Stuff like gender customization and pronouns don't change the actual gameplay (just like most modern activism acts within the boundaries determined by the institutions), but keep the game at the forefront of its actual playerbase, who are mostly casual, likely liberal-leaning Facebook users who play the game vanilla. I'm personally holding my breath for the inevitable black power Kit that offers players a variety of 'black activist-inspired' clothing and CAS items.

And also:
- Kits- low-effort reskins, CAS items, furniture that includes little if no new gameplay, can be outsourced to external studios

Judging from the Kits, TS4 is in maintenance mode at the moment, and I don't doubt that internally the main focus right now is on TS5.

TS4's likely reaching its limits in terms of expansion capacity (even though there's still lots of things the community wants), and it's frankly a very old game that lacks the hype a new title would generate (and the new EP churn that allows EA to rack in the big bucks).

And let's not forget about the potential 'Always Online' live service gameplay & monetization EA wants in all their titles in the future. They couldn't get it to work in TS4, but the dragon will get its dues...

The Sims Team has released their "Laundry List" for February 2022, acknowledging certain reported bugs. Whether they actually fix them is the big story though, as that they probably won't.

The next set of free content to be released via delivery include bathrobes, and some East Asian food recipes.

Also, the cover and title for the upcoming Game Pack, My Wedding Stories, has been leaked. EA then announced that the reveal trailer for the GP will be released next week Tuesday:

Im looking forward to it. Probs might be shit but something ahout the game always drags me back to it. Im addicted to it now after months of ignoring it. But most of that is because of the mods and my good imagination to start stories and specific goals. Im thinking of getting the sims 3 if this pack turns to shit.

All adding pronouns does is give me a new way to torture these poor people. If misgendering somebody isn't an option you can take then I am going to make it my personal mission to mod that in. I am a cruel god. When I made that trailer trash family of obese red hatted alcoholics I gave them a gay Marxist son for a reason. A gay nonbinary marxist son is just the next step in the cycle of abuse and resentment. Will Karen Maga finally leave Chad Maga this season? Will Karl Maga ever get his new book of theory published ("Sizzler and Alienation: Beyond the fry cook industrial complex")? Will his friendship and unrequited love with my self insert super rich lottery winner and his hot wife inspire any great life changes in him (it will not)? And speaking of poor neglected Karen, that vampire looking fella in the bar who says inappropriate things to women all the time has been giving her the eye, is there romance in the air? Questions questions.

If the sims is about everyday life it's only fitting we shove some gender rage in there. What's more normal than that?

Ive seen someone else say they play with the troon sims to make them kill themselves. I believe thats the only “exciting” reason anyone plays with the troon sims. I think the only people that play with this setting are the ones that torture them. majority when wanting to play a normal family or sims never picks troon sims and if you look at the gallery no one plays with the tranny tab and this is surprising considering that most of sims players are left leaning .Its all just performative activism and another useless feature added. I dont even think trannys want to play themselves because they would rather play a normal sim.

Once again, something that arguably should be added to the base game for all considering weddings in their current state are bland yet simultaneously tedious exercises where one spends more time rallying the caterer and keeping the guests in the same location long enough to witness the vow exchange rather than reveling in the joyous occasion of two pixel people being together forever.

And, you know, the fact that the vast majority of players have weddings in their game play. Still interested to see what they're offering that demands its own game pack.

Though no one is surprised, holy hell did they check off every box in terms of representation for the GP art on this one. And most importantly, the brides look weird as fuck. Is this a combination of the 2D art and the renders, because something feels off.

The gay couple and trailer of her leaving her man for the women is annoying and feels performative. I cant remember the last time recently aside from the old premades Ive seen a white heterosexual couple on the sims 4 trailer .Oh well I never play with the sims premades so ill just delete. The game pack seems promising but I doubt it will run as smoothly as the trailer. Theres some sims that will get stuck during the new group dance reaction or walk off during ceremonies to clean a random dish. Im more looking forward to the new world.

Edit: they really did check off every woke box they completely erased the flower girl or flower boy and replaced it with flower pal. Which makes no fucking sense because kids aren't even nonbinary in the game or have that option. And they dont have bachelorette or bachelor its something else. So they excluded the majority who likes gendered terms to include a small suicidal group. There should at least be an option. They cant even stay consistent as theres still gendered terms like “bride” and “groom” I swear I hate whichever fucktard is on the sims team doing this woke shit.

I expect EA to be fully woke at this point even in the face of global recession given how people cant see how badly they are Downvoted anymore. Combined with the last two kits pandering exclusively to LGBTQ+ audiences and you can see where Sims is going which is to cater to a woke fanbase who unfortunately backs them up since there isn't a good sims type game anymore that cater to this niche (and unfortunately also too focused on the coomer aspect)

Here's the trailer in question, which came out today:

In addition, during the trailer, the man that was dumped found another woman, and fell in love. I was expecting the man to get fully cucked, and leave with nothing.

The SimGurus also have teased this option, but given how getting Sims to sit down in the proper areas in TS4 is impossible, and has been an issue for years, I'm not holding my breath that they'll get it done right this time. That also leaves the question of if this will be patched for the base game, or will be exclusive to the GP, like how toilet stalls are exclusive to Discover University.

I played both Sims 1 and Sim 4 recently. I think I had more fun with the first one. The last great Sim game is the 2nd one.
