I’ll say it again, praise Anadius.

Good, comprehensible piracy without any of the straitjacket slap fights (FitGirl + Empress). Need more like him.

The Sims Team announced that they will be working on "bug fixes", but this is way too late, given the mountains of spaghetti code TS4 is filled with, and because the game turns 10 this year:

I remembered that they used the "performance" excuse, to cut out so many features from past Sims games, and yet, the "performance improvements" weren't there at all.

I'd rather have the memory leak fixes for Sims 3 that they gave the Mac port.

Garbage tactic that only will apply to console users (why log in everyday when I have better hair and item mods already on my game?). No one wants Sims 4 on battle pass. They should instead improve their scenarios to where you start as a new temp created sim in a preestablished household w relationships and you then have a story/multiple choice elements kind of like the sims life stories but w multiple choice. Just more reason for me to abandon TS4 for TS3-2 and TSM.

Hasn't it been like this already since forever? You've always had to download the latest update before the launcher allowed access

IIRC, if you set the EA App to Offline Mode, and disabled automatic updates, you could use the older versions of the game. Now, EA is forcing TS4 players to update their games, if they still want to play it.

I'd been buying the Sims dlcs like a retard, until I totaled up the cost of all of them. Around $800, which fuck that. That's like half the cost of my rig, for woke shit being forced into my face. I have hated EA and their buggy shit for decades.

So I downloaded a repack from FitGirl and ran the included updater to get the stuff her repack didn’t have. The game runs and all the dlcs looks to be there.

But now I don't have any of my saved games or CC. I checked my documents/electronic arts/the Sims 4/ and it's all there, I'm just not seeing them in game. I did just move my Documents folder off One Drive and onto my SMB server the other day because I ran out of space on OneDrive and fuck giving Microshit any money. Fuck SaaS. But I can't find another documents/electronic arts/the Sims 4 folder aanywhere.

Should I rename the folder, see if the game creates it and move stuff back in?

I have googled and found people asking this on Reddit but because reddit is useless there weren't any answers that weren't hur dur the folder is in my documents.

Annidus or whatever is better. It's an actual updater that adds whatever content you want and keeps the client up to date. Haven't used it in a long while so idk if it's good anymore with all the slop and updates that EA has since done

That's the updater included in the FitGirl repack. It's really slick. I'm fully up to date. Yay!

I just want my save game. I haven't been playing her long, but I don't want to start over if I don't have to.

I hate trannies as much as any farmer, but I don't hate the truly skilled ones who actually work hard. Like, you're still a fucking freak, but at least you're useful to society.

That's odd. Try this: take that folder you already have in your My Documents, and put it somewhere else or delete it. Then start the game, you'll make it create a new saves folder.
You can ignore this next step, but create a new random family, save and close the game. Check the TS4 folder and see if the new game was added to the save folder. If it was added that means THAT will be your new folder.
Go back to your old folder with your saved games and CC. Copy the saves, mods and tray folders (and some other files but I don't remember now, I have to check), paste them in the new folder and replace everything if needed.
Now run again the game again and check if your families appear in it. If you don't see the CC in the game, you probably have to toggle on the "allow CC" option in the settings.

It gets weirder. I moved the folder, but the game didn't recreate it! I ran a windows search on my hard drives, couldn't find any ts4 folder other than the game folder.

Moved my documents folder off my SMB server and on to my hard drive. Started the game, my testing family was gone. Copied my original ts4 folder to my new documents folder, started the game, and my original family was there.

So the takeaway is that storing the documents folder on an SMB server confuses things. I guess.

I missed the SMB server part. But the ends justify the means, you have your old saves in your game now? I guess the folder needs to be in the same hard drive where the game is installed, if that makes sense.
