I've been playing since Sims 1 days and now I have Sims 2 with all packs except Teen Style Stuff and Holiday and Sims 3 with all packs except Katy Perry Sweet Treats.

My current active Sim at university, studying for a fine arts degree. She's finished the first year and she's taking a well-earned break for starting the second.

Ahhh.. it's been a long time since I played The Sims. Hope to find some time to play it.

I was actually thinking of reinstalling it yesterday, but I got bored and just decided to play MGS today. I'll install it when my game breaks aren't 30 minutes long.

It's been long since I have played the Sims. First played it on PS2. The best ones I played were the second and third.

I love playing Sims. I don't have all the Sims 3 expansions, but I have quite a few.

I also played the original Sims a long time ago. I never put in stoves in my houses until my Sims read a cookbook and got at least a +1 in cooking, because otherwise they'd burn the house down trying to cook. Maybe it's just my bad luck, but my Sims from the original game just had a knack for burning down houses when cooking. Naturally I never trusted them with a fireplace. Hell, in Sims 3 I still don't trust Sims with a fireplace.

Fine arts? Good luck getting anywhere with that. =D

Lol. I haven't played the Sims in a bit, but I love it. I feel creepy making people I know in the Sims, so I would create some of the Power Rangers and give them crazy things to do. Zordon was like Hugh Heffner running around in PJs and getting all the girls.

I used to love The Sims! Being the nerd I am though, I had more fun modding it. I had made tons of objects for the Sims 1, complete with custom behaviors.

I dreamt of getting my hands on Edith, the internal editor Maxis would use to craft SimAntics scripts for object behavior. Alas, it was just leaked out last year, mistakenly bundled by EA in the final version of The Sims Online executable and later discovered by clever modders. Too bad I've since long lost my Sims discs...

I made the Chandlers in Sims 3 awhile back. I don't remember what happened other than their house becoming really cluttered. Maybe I'll do it again.

Was it the Chandler family where we had Chris, Lovely Weather, and Crystal? I remember that from the old forum before we had the spergcity forum.

Reposting this for the third/fourth time.

Fine arts can get you hired at a higher level in the Acting Career, which will help my Sim get her LTW (Reach LV10 in Acting) faster.

In the meantime, though, the Spring Festival is on. Simmie has the Great Kisser trait, I wonder if that will net her more money from manning the kissing booth?

I have my own SimChris, maybe I might inflict him on Twinbrook or somewhere. Hey! Maybe I could do a Sims Let's Play featuring CWC! I was going to suggest Niachu send me SimLovelyWeather, but I'd rather just have Chris live alone and A-Log the fuck out of him by making him get a job and look for a sweetheart with all negative traits, hee hee hee.

^ That sounds fun. Hope to see any progress if possible.

Hah, no, that was someone else. I had Chris, Barb and Bob.

If you had them, what happened to them in the end? Was the Sims version of Casa de Chandler filled with garbage? Did Bob die and become a ghost? Did Chris make himself the enemy of some of the local sims?

I never got too far with it. All I remember is that they spent all their time watching TV while the house became a total mess. Chris tried to hit on some local women I think but he struck out. I've since lost the sim files but I guess I can recreate them should the mood strike, lol.

Bored to tears, and my friend is about to leave. Might as well start installing it.

I used to play the Sims almost addictively. I recall creating the Chandlers a few times. I think right after I installed the Sims 3, I created a Sonicfag house with Chris-Chan, Spax3, and AKnotholeResident that consisted of a shack with some stairs leading to a basement rape/torture chamber, Josef Fritzl style.

Aren't they announcing the Sims 4 tomorrow or something? I would be excited, if not for the fact that it's guaranteed to contain always-online DRM. The last time I tried to install TS3, I got bombarded with in-game popups for shop mode, at which point I said fuck it EA ruined this game forever.

GOD DAMN IT.

Yeah, it can get really annoying. I remember when I first installed it on my old laptop, there was none of this online crap, but now, it's inescapable. Even then, you could probably get better furniture from simply modding the game.

Yeah, it's hard not to get the impression that EA is nickel-and-diming consumers at every chance they get. Take Fast Lane Scam Pack for example... you get around 30 reskinned automotive items functionally identical with those in the base game. The saddest thing is that Fresh-Prince-Creations' car mods are godtier by comparison, and most of all, FREE. I mean, it's not like there's any new functionality in the cars either. In TS2 you could sit in the car, turn on the radio, have backseat Woohoo, even watch it park in the driveway which I thought was amazing given engine limitations. Cars in TS3 do none of that, they basically just disappear into a hammerspace inventory after a really quick and forgettable ride around town. I'm nitpicking, but it feels TS3 has none of the little things. We didn't get hot tubs until expansion 3, diving boards until expansion 8.

Compare that shit to Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony, priced the same as 30 Item "Stuff Packs" of TS3 and including at least 30 times the amount of content. You get a badass new protagonist, new vehicles, a 10+ hour storyline, new side-missions, new safehouses, new radio stations, fucking tanks and parachutes, a golden helicopter that shoots missiles, and the ability to use said helicopter in new multiplayer modes. That is what you call an expansion pack, ladies and gentlemen. EA's incessant "expansion packs" (I believe we're up to 10 now for TS3) go for twice the price of TBOGT to give you simple shit like diving boards they purposefully left out of TS3 base...

Which is why I am never touching any EA product ever again. I heard they recently beat out Bank of America for Consumerist Magazine's "Worst Company In America" award... for the second year in a row.

See: EA In a Nutshell (YouTube link because I can't figure out how to embed videos here, if such a thing is possible.)

I must say, this has been some rather introspective and inappropriate venting. :asperchu:
