Eh, constantly involving yourself in slapfights with them while advertising yourself as better than them ends up making you lower in the end. I can at least not fault die hard creationists for simply not knowing any better, they were raised on it and they continue to espouse it. The skeptics had their chances to realize they were putting themselves in a retarded egoboosting loop yet continued to do so. The people still actually arguing with random flat earthers are pathetic.
At least, creationists can have the argument of ignorance; they know very little even about their own faith or its history, and half the stuff they believe would get them laughed at by the very same people who wrote the Bible down in the first place. The skeptics claim to be smart, but when it comes to debating educated leftists or religious people, they wither away, not wanting to fight against someone who has teeth.
Hence why in the end, their internet shitposting has been reserved for picking on the scabs of the Internet culture, because at the very least, they can preach to the choir and get the average man to agree that creationists and extreme feminists are dumb, which most folks already believe anyways. In many corners of the internet and the world, the word ''feminism'' is considered toxic, and most educated religious folks look at creationist evangelicals the same way you'd look at lepers.
I remember some of the people talked about in this thread, as I used to watch their videos against creationism. Those still hold up fairly well, but unfortunately dunking on people known for their bestial stupidity makes you more intelligent than them, but not intelligent objectively.
That's the thing about the Skeptics. Their targets were usually low-hanging fruit. Not the well-educated religious guys coming out of seminaries, but the self-taught religious Evangelicals who believed in things like creationism which was rejected by 90% of the mainstream Christian denominations like Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Presbyterianism, Methodism, Anglicanism/Episcopalianism, Lutheranism, and so on. People who actually know theology can easily hand the Skeptics their asses on a plate, so the Skeptics avoided them and focused their assault on dumb religious hicks who know little about the Scriptures or the traditions and history of the Christian Church.
Then the Skeptics picked on the third-wave feminists, who again, were not known for being the sharpest tools in the shed among the Left; even most leftists who paid these feminists lip service didn't believe in what they preached. The Skeptics picked on intellectually weak targets whose ideals and beliefs were rejected by 95% of the average common man, so that they could get those dopamine hits by calling out complete idiots and getting applause from the average person.
But when it came to actually choose a side, the Skeptics floundered. They couldn't make a side of their own, as they had no real values of their own, outside of a nebulous version of libertarianism that rejected both the religious right and the feminists. Their pretense towards science is overshadowed by the fact that, unlike Richard Dawkins, Steven Hawking, and the old atheist vanguard, they were not scientists. Their pretense towards progressive ideals got crushed when they went to war with Third-Wave Feminism. Some of them tried to become conservatives, but they had to shed their anti-religious ideals and break bread with the same evangelical Christian right that they used to demonize. Some of them tried to become Breadtubers, but the SJW Left never truly accepted them since they used to be anti-feminist chuds.
And now, they're stuck in limbo, as religion has proven to be more enduring than the Skeptics realized, and both the Right and the Left are consolidating their own religious alliances; with progressive Christians joining the SJWs while trad Christians join the Right. Both political sides have realized the enduring power of Faith and wish to harness it for their own ends. I mean, just look at Catholicism; progressives, even the non-religious ones, hold progressive Catholics like Pope Francis in high regard, meanwhile, the traditionalist Catholics who are slap-fighting with their current Pope are seen as heroes by the modern right, even by the non-Catholics among them who see them as a pillar of virtue against progressive influence.
So basically, the skeptics' brand of atheism became a relic of the late 2000s, as more and more religious people enter the West from the Third World; Latin Catholics who pray to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Muslims who make daily prayers to Mecca, Buddhists and Hindus who make pagodas in their new American homes. And these guys are the ones having lots of kids, while the Skeptics aren't necessarily reproducing their numbers. At this point, the religious people the Skeptics used to bitch at see them as a sad remnant of a lost age, instead of an enemy to be crushed. Meanwhile, the feminists are still going full tilt with the aid of the Leftist elite such as Blackrock that throw free money at producers who make SJW-friendly feminist media, and any attempt by the Skeptics to dislodge them from their perch of influence ended in a dismal failure; even Gamergate at the end failed to keep SJWs away from game studios and gaming news websites, and other efforts such as Comicsgate ended in dismal failure as well.
The coming war between tradition and progressive ideals in American culture and the West at large will have no place for the Skeptics; both sides see them as outcasts and as heretics to the cause. At best, they would just be ignored and laughed at, and at worst, both sides will paint them as the enemy and harry them out of the public limelight before going back to beating each other up. I suppose this is what happens when you pick a fight with God; eventually, He does strike back, and when He does, there is no escape.
