So I read India wants to eventually put their own people on the moon with their own program. While they are part of Artemis I would keep them at a distance. In fact I think we will see an Emirati or Israeli before an Indian unless the Anglo sphere sends a jeet of their own.

This entire event is brought to you by the Orange Man who wants America to do cool shit. Love him or hate him, this would not have happened but for Trump.
No, he also cut NASA funding. I dont know if he did this year, but he was another one who cut funding sadly.

He cut funding towards grants NASA gives to academic institutions, which was part of his overall pull back of federal funding to American universities. The NASA spaceflight division got a funding boost. The "Big Beautiful Bill" allocated 10 Billion Dollars for the Artemis Program specifically.

Ahh, this I didnt know, thanks.

I am forever grateful to trump now

The PBR that was proposed would have been an unmitigated shitshow (thankfully we're past that), but I have mixed feelings about the accelerated Artemis plan.

On one hand, there are/were actual EUS issues that would've kicked the delivery can down the road past 2030, so as-is there would've been a 5+ year gap between Artemis III (last ICPS) and Artemis IV (first EUS). On the other hand, the idea of developing a new stage is probably a 5 year investment, even if it's Centaur V derived. And that's not counting the fact that neither lander (I think Blue Moon Mk2 has a slight edge depending on how well Mk1 goes later this year) will probably be ready by 2028.

My guess based on industry vibes and my own intuition after two decades of fly-on-the-wall-ing is that they'll probably fly Artemis III as a LEO test by 2030 with a dummy ICPS or dummy Centaur V (to test the outer mold line and new avionics) and then do Artemis IV with the last ICPS circa about 2030-2031. That should cover the Centaur V gap. All on the next administration to commit to Centaur V and CS6+ though.

I know when I went to space center houston last year, they had been showcasing all of the Artemis stuff that I'm seeing now, so I can always just schedule another trip there and just ask employees your questions in person, if you're interested in me playing amateur interviewer.

I do recall seeing everything you've described, but it all looked, I guess very very basic, and clearly still being tested, so your guess of 2028 might not be too far off.

Look, you can see how he camera cuts off much of the earth dome so we cannot see its flat curvature. The fix is in!

20 minutes until Apogee Orbital Burn at T+1:47:00. This will push the vessel into high earth orbit and be beyond low earth orbit communications. Final conference will occur prior to this burn. After that, communication with the vessel will be subject to relativistic effects. Nothing dramatic, but "real time" communication won't be in "real time" but subject to a few seconds delay.
