The Witcher Game Series

Okay so I did not touch the games, only books, and I saw the trailer and can't understand why it is such a big deal. She doens't look much different to me than Ciri from W3, just older. Is everyone retarded or just me?

granted I don't mind the visual change all that much (it's bound to change before release anyway) but her new VA is a downgrade

I put on my glasses and wizard hat and see the same Ciri, but ~25 years older... maybe a bit milfy err milky.
I have a bigger issue of Trial of Grasses being somehow a thing now despite it being lost knowledge. She was already fed steroids in Kaen Morhen and undergone some training there, she's already partially a witcher. Triss had to tell Ciri's "daddies" to stop feeding her Ork shrooms 'cause her tits are not developing properly lol.

I joked that she looks like someone's middle aged mom.

That doesn't make any sense, why would new players start with the fourth game in a series?

Maybe im dumb but why the fuck did she needed to take the trial of the grasses when she was already powerful and had mastery of powerful magic.
Because they NEED her to be the protagonist of the sequel for DEI money but know that nobody wants to buy The Witcher to play 'The Witcher but actually she is a universe hopping dyke.'

The fantasy of the series is about being a lowly monster hunter tangling with powerful foes borderline above your pay grade. You can't do that when Ciri can dimension hop to the Cyberpunk Universe, get a smart shotgun, and blast everything she encounters to smithereens.

Mark my words, she will have undergone the trial but survived due to her elder blood. In exchange she can no longer use her powers. Now she will be just Geralt with a vagina.

This is why they should have just made it a custom character.

Normal difficulty? I did a playthrough not too long ago and B&W has one side quest (called Extreme Cosplay) that's completely busted on Blood March + enemy scaling enabled.

The PS5 version is an unstable pos as well, had the game lock-up multiple times, corrupt save games, slow-mo glitches.
I think i did the base game on Hard, dont remember exactly... Wasnt on Normal though.

They are legitimately excellent. Blood & Wine is almost an entirely different game.
That's the one i can't wait to get to, heard so much praise for it i'm actually hyped lol

Hell, i'm thinking about replaying the whole damn thing just to get a "fresh" start into the expansions.

For anyone planning on replaying the games and hasn't done it yet, I'd really recommend trying out the Polish voice overs. The cast is fantastic and are actually consistent across the trilogy (whereas the English cast constantly changes everyone but Geralt). Also, a dedicated modder made a mod for every part of the trilogy that fixes bugs and restores content.

Are there going to be brothels in this so Ciri can rug munch as a proud non human Witcherx?

The same way a shit ton of people started with (and have only played) The Witcher 3.
As much as a shit on secondary's and tourists i don't blame them, witcher 1 is the holy mother of jank and 2 filters people with the pace/barely working mechanics and the first letho fight being a gigantic piece of shit

Maybe it depends on the person but I found the first game far less jank and more bearable to play than games like Morrowind. And it's basically identical to kotor and I don't hear near the same amount of criticism about that game being jank. (though I have heard a few recently)

The crux is the how. Vesemir is dead, the Wolf school is defunct. No other school is just going to administer the trial. This is the central contrivance. If it's fucked this bad from the gate, there's no way it goes anywhere but downhill from there.

I am one of the people who started with The Witcher 3 on account of not having an Xbox growing up. But Now that I have a Series X I bought The Witcher 2 on sale for like $5 on the Xbox store a while back and it plays like shit imo.

What don't you like about it? TW2 was designed with a controller in mind and I think it plays just fine. It has some difficulty spikes though, the fight you have with Letho at the end of act 2 is probably the hardest fight in the entire game.

The hardest part about the first game is getting used to the combat (and not getting filtered by the beast). It's a much easier game to get into compared to something like the old Baldur's Gate games.
