The World Travel Thread

I remember spending 3 days in the most dangerous part of Mexico which so happens to be Colima back in 2021. I spent much of the night trying to photograph Miaplacidus and had to sleep on a bed with only one pillow and one blanket. I also remember it was really hot and that was on a February.

Going to do some hard threadomancy. I'm planning a trip to Japan since I'm a disgusting weeb full of self loathing. Was wondering if any kiwis could offer some advice or suggestions from their own experiences. I'm also going to invoke @BananaSplit² since my keen detective insight tells me he can have some insight (just ignore me or tell me to fuck off if you don't want to).
 
Hey travel frens. I am looking to re-discover solo travel. I've looked though so many booking websites that my head is going to explode. What I am looking for is a website/app that shows last minute deals. Not cheap spirit airlines and a hostel thing, but a decent hotel/flight, just last minute. From looking around I am only finding the super cheap shit that looks a bit shady. I have the money for a decent vacation, but I don't like planning and anticipating travel, so something like a flash deal a few days in advance on something decent would be what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of or has had luck with any such websites or apps that would make this possible?
