The World Travel Thread

maybe you just got lucky.

The modifier "Pretty much" means he stayed in highly controlled areas. Its like when people tell me how much they love Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, almost anywhere in Africa or Central America, I always ask them how much Sandals is charging these days for a 5 night

I went to a Civil War-era location in Tennessee, the ground was very trap-ridden with deep set grooves and places to get your ankle twisted.

You want to go to remote locations with a kiwi farms user. That will not end well for you.

Edit: oh you said you just want to discuss it.

Well stop making OPs sounding like a robot lol
Sorry about that, I'm not very good at communicating via text based mediums. Thanks for the lovely suggestions fellow kiwis.

Cyprus is full of Russian expats. They also own and monitor the island’s largest mobile networks. It is also full of goats as well.

In short, do not holiday in Cyprus.

Have you been to anywhere in the world where you absolutely loved it and made you feel at home in spite of the COVID-19? If there's been any place that I've fallen in love with, it would have to be Belfast and Derry. Everything is closeby in Belfast and it's easy to get anywhere around the city. Not only that, but the Victorian architecture and atmosphere of the city reminds me of a mini-London. On the other hand, I adore Derry with it's very Irish charms and Gregorian architecture makes it feel like a more compact Dublin. The city has some of the friendliest people I've met that have really cool accents and to top it off, it has a rich history behind it. Not to mention, the walls of Derry are beautiful. While I don't usually dislike anywhere I've been to, I was very disappointed by Galway city, very underwhelming city with not much to look at it. Some parts of it I like, but the nature part of the area is much better.

Leavenworth, Washington. Its an american town founded by Bavarian immigrants. Its nestled right in the middle of the cascade mountain range and they have some really great shops and inns.

Friendly people, good authentic German/Bavarian food (they make their own European style chocolates), beautiful location, and lots to do if your a wilderness person with the mountains, lakes and rivers. Its also in Eastern Washington so you are far away from the faggy Seattle Hipsters and liberals.

Chicago has a lot of crime, doesn't it?
Not as much as is portrayed by folks, but still quite a bit. I remember being stuck in traffic on this huge 5 or 6 lane highway and below me watching police cars with lights off but guns being pointed out of the windows. At 6 in the morning. On a Sunday. In winter. I heard bangs a while after I had inched past the scene, so everything was out of sight.

I would like to add L.A., Atlanta, St Louis, and Minneapolis. Congested, "diverse", expensive, and; aside from airports, literally useless places.

Wow.... That must not be a very good start to a morning. I've been to parts of London where I've seen a few weirdos on drugs and violent people about to get into pretty bad fights. It's gotten pretty bad over the years.

London had the same issue as L.A., liberals ruining the place with their policies and immigrants, neutering the police, and emboldening the criminals. Burmingham got done like Detroit and Gary, once a hub of industry, raped by politicians and forced to intake oodles of foreigners.

Figeac and Rocamadour in the south of France. Figeac is an amazing medieval town filled with winding streets and awesome little cafes. Rocamadour, well it's Minas Tirth basically:
