I need to play Saga. I need to play Gears too but Saga sounds like the more interesting one since I've heard Gears suffers from being such a big scope that the game struggles to really get across everything.Finished Xenosaga 3, very much enjoyed that over Xenosaga 2 but I have a hard time easily putting it over Xenosaga 1.
I'd say they're worth it, but they're pretty different to eachother, so you definitely have to be ready for that. A lotta people hated 2 when it came out cause it was so tonally different to 1. And 3 was different again. There's through-lines of course, but they change up quite a lot when compared to other franchises. Is Xenoblade worth it?
I kinda see it as an asset though. The games feel so different that it makes it feel fresh every time.
Also, hopefully when we see the Switch 2, we'll get another Xeno game as a launch or near-launch title again. Monolith always seem to want to make things bigger and crazier and they can only really do that with new hardware. Plus, I want to see how the series goes now that we've concluded the first trilogy in the Xenoblade sub-franchise.
Compared to after 2 when you could maybe guess where the overarching story was going, this time it definitely feels more like nobody has a bloody clue what's happening next.
