Thoughts about DSP's Psychology - Dr Fred Freud's Office

Twitch removed him from their partnership program.

He is more than welcome to stream there, but without cheers and subs.
And the only reason he isn't there is because he felt insulted when he ate a very short ban that was quickly undone. He was content to demand 200 a stream for however long it took to get to regain affiliate or partner status.

My 2 cents on the DSP mental condition shit - he's definitely a vulnerable narcissist, likely didn't ever have depression (the condition) that he likes to use as a shield, he is definitely a gambling addict, and definitely has alcohol issues that he downplays. He is impulsive and has no filter which will hurt him forever, and this ties into his spending.

Some of these are definitely his parents fault, most of what I know about them makes them look like really bad parents. They didn't teach him self awareness and common decency, didn't teach him how to treat people with respect and the value of selfless acts.

He's never been in a romantic relationship with a mature and well adjusted woman, so he doesn't know how to act as an actual man.

He is entitled and a narcissist, but much of his entitlement comes from negative reinforcement he gets from the paypigs.

Regarding Ree's parents, they are definitely the kind of folks that did not let their kid deal with anything. I especially suspect the cigarette lady saw her lil Davey boy cry and wail at not getting his way, as kids do, but was too much of a coward to let young David learn how to properly cope. I say that because cowardice is Dave's biggest personality trait IMO, everything else about him feeds into or out of the cowardice in one way or another.

And so the cowardly Burnell matriarch gave her only sire plenty of ass pats, toys, games, etc - anything he wanted to keep him happy. She couldn't even stand her ground with the wolverine toy, eventually relenting and letting the overgrown 13 year old have his little toy. She extended this well into his 20's by doing laundry for his crusty ass coom stained clothes. They flew over when he was in his 30's to clean his garbage and other homecare. And further into his 30's, they paid for his entire wedding, and gave him a bunch of money because baby boy was calling her up weekly crying and wailing, like usual.

Moral of the story? Cowards breed cowards and avoidance of pain only causes more so.

That rant about the PKA crew really shows how much he doesn't understand friendships and friends and how badly he must project his own feelings on John and Howard and that money must be the end goal of everything.
I might go into more detail but I need to form a actual paragraph or two about it or just wait for Steve of the Dead to do it for me.

One thing that I heard from Steve of the Dead that I thought was interesting is that Phil is losing all capacity to make friends or connect to other people in any way because he doesn't do anything.

He is like an old person that says his best days are behind him and is just waiting to die, you know how some old people don't really do anything but watch TV or listen to the radio? If you ever interacted with a person like that you know there is no way of having a conversation with them because they don't do anything, the only thing you can talk about is of the soap opera they are watching. with Phil is the same thing.

Phil is not informed about any current events or anything related to the real world so you can't have a conversation about the society we live in or anything like that, he doesn't have any hobbies so he can't talk to people about his hobbies or connect to someone of similar interests, there is no ice breaker with Phil because he is a literal blob that just exists to consume door dash and mobile games, when you make a friend the conversation starts because the two of you have something in common to talk about, then the more you talk about the less you talk about that topic your two were initially interested in and you move on to other topics, Phil is incapable of doing that because the only things he is interested in is consuming pig slop, WWE candy crush and being a victim of detractors, even if he tried to talk about gaming (something he uses as his whole identity) the other person would think he is a fucking retard(because he is) since his opinion are misinformed and dented, if he starts a conversation with someone about gaming the other person will think he is a dent and will stop talking to him the moment Phil says Bugsnax is game of the year or that street fighter super turbo is the pinnacle of fighting games.

On top of having an absolutely terrible personality, low IQ and some autism you can't talk to him about anything because he just exists.

This is a strangely perfect analogy. Unfortunately many elderly simply don't have anything to do because family visit them irregularly. It's worse in nursing homes because the only socializing they get are employees who range from loathing to loving them and other elderly who haven't consigned themselves to wasting away yet.

I still believe phil thinks being an adult involves spending all your savings. No idea where he came up with that idea.
His childhood. I assume his parents were well off judging from how spoiled he was, so his parents, mom specifically, took him out shopping a lot.

This is probably why his off days are always loitering in malls or stores. It is ingrained in his head that mature adults do this.

Everything about Phil screams a mindset of somebody trying to project an image of success as opposed to actually being successful. Even as early as the wolverine figure story, he didn't want the figure for the figure, he wanted it because it was seen as valuable or something because when he got the damn thing later he wasn't happy because his concept of its value had gone down by then.

I think you are oversimplifying things a little: He understands what savings are and why they're important, he just thinks they are a lower priority than self-indulgence. I think the exact quote was something to the effect of, "I can't afford to save money, now that I'm an adult I have to remember to have fun". So where most people's priorities go necessities -> emergency fund -> creature comforts -> retirement fund -> everything else, his go necessities -> everything else -> emergency + retirement funds. This lines up with his complaint on "Top Haters" that only the ultra rich can afford to not have credit card debt and would also explain why he was able to pay off his credit cards in the early 2010s, he was making so much that he ran out of ideas for frivolous spending and put the money towards his debts instead.

Now for my own shithead idiot kid theory: One of the consistent things with Phil is that he does not understand the difference between luxuries and necessities. When somebody in his chat suggested that he give up some, or maybe even all but one, of his streaming subscriptions to save money he got mad and explained he absolutely needed all of them because each service had 1 or 2 exclusives he liked. With that in mind I suspect getting a new toy was a very routine, once-a-week or once-a-month thing Phil came to expect the same way most of us treat grocery shopping or going to church. Combine that with having very few IRL friends and living with his parents until 27 and he probably never realized just how weird it was - the only difference is that now the "necessities" are WWE Champions and Doordash instead of Wolverine or Spawn dolls action figures.

Edit:

From what I can tell David makes good money and Linda spends it all: David should be making good money since he's in upper management, the hobbies he listed on some SM profile that got passed around on troll Twitter were interesting but inexpensive, but he still lives in a duplex in a terrible neighborhood and works full time at age 65. The money has to be going somewhere and we've ruled out retirement or necessities so I can't think of a "somewhere" other than Linda's shopping habit.

In that sense Phil is a combination of David and Linda - he makes more than enough to pay his bills, have some savings, and even go on a nice vacation on top of that but he's too busy wasting that money to even think about doing something besides living hand-to-mouth.

The thing with champions is that it's an addiction, one of many at this point. And it's gotten so bad that he can't even go a full stream without making a few pulls. And doordash comes more from his sheer retardation than from skewed priorities. He genuinely believes that eating out is as cheap as, if not cheaper than buying the ingredients and making food yourself so to him both options mean getting food and one requires less effort.

That's probably true for him.

  1. He's trash at shopping on a budget
  2. He's trash at buying cheap, affordable groceries that aren't a marketing scheme or "gourmet" so he can feel fancy
  3. He's trash at cooking, and the process of cooking takes him too long
  4. He has no creativity or interest in trying out new recipes, so he's stuck eating pasta, hotdogs and turkey burgers from the freezer
  5. When him or his wife fail at cooking, it exposes them as the morons they are (Christmas roast) and he can't have his ego take a hit like that
So, it is more convenient for him to order, and then just throw the takeout boxes with the rest of them in the garage. Of course, he pays extra so his food isn't cooked by a denthead (unless it's Burger King), gets delivered right into his disgusting mouth and he doesn't need to spend time making a mess in the kitchen and having to bitch about cleaning up
The thing with champions is that it's an addiction, one of many at this point
It's almost as bad as a drug addiction, and in some ways it's worse. While drug addicts have to find a dealer, go outside and get the drugs, DSP's addiction is incredibly convenient and can be indulged in anywhere he is.

Apps also integrate themselves easily in daily life, and opening them becomes a habit and a part of people's routine. Predatory apps are specifically designed with this in mind, and daily challenges and login rewards are a part of this manipulation.

Given this, and the amount of money he's spent, it's indisputable that WWE Champions is not only an important part of his daily life (we're talking about Mr. Schedule right here), but probably one of the things he enjoys the most. I don't think it's likely he'll stop playing it unless he has an intervention by his support system (he's got nobody besides a potato wife and a feline son), goes completely broke or Scopely pull the plug on the Hogans.

Yeah I was honestly shocked at how fucking awful the nigger infested ghetto the Burnell's live in is. I feel like any whites with cash would have moved away decades ago. Going over the crime maps all you need to do is go a few blocks south and you hit a serious high crime area. Lots of violent crime. Bridgeport is a pit and they are in the armpit of a pit.

New Englanders are a strange people. They're mostly hippy dippy libshits that like to pretend they aren't racist and are morally superior. See how Phil likes to yell how he is super tolerant. He isn't a libshit but he knows it makes him look virtuous. The attitude of New Englanders is that they are superior to everyone else, this is especially prevalent with the whites there and is probably rooted in the stupid LARP of being the most pure they had going for a while.

TLDR New Englanders are massively deluded and will happily live in a ghetto to avoid thinking people see them as racist because they don't want to acknowledge they are.

Let's stop smearing a region with goofy accents and great lahbstah when there's a retarded obese manchild to mock instead.

I think I cracked the code here: One night of food from Doordash costs about $50, while one week of food from Fred Meyer costs about $150. Combine that with Phil's habit of spending every last penny he gets, as soon as he gets it and he doesn't see nightly Doordash adding up to $350/week, he just sees that he has to set aside $50 on Doordash nights but $150 the night before his Designated Day Off. It makes perfect sense if you have literally zero long-term memory or planning skills.

There was also something Phil said during the Wings DTRH that could fit into this thread: During a discussion of money and donations, Phil stated that he deserved more money because he had very little cash on hand and his gross income was irrelevant. This is in line with a comment he made years ago in the mid/late 2010s that if you earn $1 million but spend $1 million + 1 dollar, you're poor and deserve help (this was also around the time he was looking into food stamps despite making six figures). Obviously that's not how jobs work, you're paid based on the work you do and the most many places will do for needy employees is give them extra hours. On the other hand it makes perfect sense if the bailouts from his parents have been going on for even longer than we realized. Just off the top of my head we know he had serious credit card debt from ~2000-2010, was unemployed for some amount of time after Best Buy fired him, didn't even look for another real job after getting laid off from the helicopter plant, and had major dips in income post-2010 but none of those forced him to cut back. I'm sure credit cards are part of the story but I'd be even more surprised if his parents didn't give him thousands-tens of thousands on top of that to "help".

It scares me that Burnell Productions CEO, President, and Board of Directors is likely not the only person in America with as awful financial skills as he has. Hell I'm sure there are people worst than him.

There are and you don't even need to leave the Vortex to find them: Last year, as part of the @timboslicegb dox, we found that he went bankrupt twice in the span of just over 4 years. This is not a joke and you can find the filings here.

In many ways the first bankruptcy in January 2016 was a scaled down version of Phil's begruptcy - almost no liquid assets, tons of credit card debt, and based on the large number of cards I suspect he tried to use DSP's strategy of treating credit cards as free money + kiting cards to keep the balance in check and interest low, only to fuck it up or run out of banks willing to give him credit. Regardless the discharge was granted and his debt was reduced from about $41,000 to about $15,500 (a $2,000 loan on a $1,400 car + $15,000 in non-dischargeable student loans).

Fast forward to late March 2020 (so just after Covid lockdowns started, we have no idea if he was planning this pre-lockdowns and no way of finding out). Compared to 2016 he now had about $17,000 in unsecured debt with multiple collections agencies and credit cards listed plus a $6,600 loan on a $2,300 car for a total of just over $21,000 in debt despite having to spell out that credit card debt was the reason he needed his first bankruptcy, getting the discharge from said first bankruptcy, as well as getting a better paying job since then. He even got the same exact judge for both cases so I like to imagine she went over the filings and went "goddamnit he really didn't learn anything did he?".
