Tickle-heads (The ASMR Community)

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

ASMR is seriously the creepiest shit. Im a fan of Idubbbz and he has some video of him and his friend opening pokemon cards, and this was on the sidebar. It has to be the most internet thing to ever exist. It's so fucking weird, why does it exist? I mean videos about opening pokemon cards is one thing, that's weird enough but I guess you get the thrill of finding out what's inside the pack without actually spending money. But apparently that's a huge "youtube sensation" -- videos of people opening pokemon cards. It's so weird.

Cloveress...this girl's channel is full of cringe worthy material. Watch her "Eating Your Banana" video, the way she caters to the fetish crowd in that one is fucking disgusting.
While I extremely rarely feel ASMR tingles, I watch lots of ASMR videos, specially when I want to sleep, since they're really relaxing to me. I enjoy a wide variety of triggers and I like lots of different "ASMRtists". However, I agree that many videos are just cringy and/or gross. I don't really like weird roleplay videos, and I can't force myself to listen to kidnapping/murder/torture (Yes, there are "Murder ASMR" videos) or sexual videos. I think that kind of stuff gives people a wrong idea of what ASMR is. And the Girlfriend Roleplay ones are just...sad. But really, not everyone in the ASMR community is a weirdo or a potential masochist.

I'm just surprised I haven't seen an ASMR girl pleasuring herself offcamera whilst moaning into the camera yet.
Although they are getting pretty close.

Which YT then started recommending these vids to me. Girls reading whilst using toys on themselves. Which is apparently a thing, with fans and stuff.

So now I've discovered I'm actually a weirdo because apparently everyone out there has some weird fucked up fetish of some kind, and I don't.

Going to add something to freshen up the thread:

A few friends of mine sent me some ASMR videos because they liked them. Typical massage stuff, I think a proto-ASMR video may be this massage video by a guy called Baba in India:

Okay fine, some people like that stuff, cool I guess. I didn't know there was a community for this shit until later, I saw a lot of parodies like the Funky Kong Las Vegas airport one.

But there's something a bit more sinister with the ASMR community. There's people that use it for a sexual thing and those girlfriend RPs/kissing videos/"ear licking" videos rack up the views and add to Patreon dollahs. If you type up "ASMR" and "(some topic here)" you'll see a lot of minors posting videos showing off their toy collection or doing a makeup role-play or something, and they get really disturbing comments. One teenage girl whose videos I won't link here because of Shmorkites potentially trawling for material (and also because SHE'S A TEENAGED GIRL), said she stopped making videos because people asked her to kiss the microphone, pics of her feet, or asking where she lived.

Found a less creepy one. Especially if you consider it more as playing with the cat than anything.

When you're experiencing AMSR, the entire back of your scalp goes numb, but it's not a scary feeling.
That numbing sensation goes down your back and into your entire body. It'll last maybe a good 10 - 20 seconds and then the buzz is gone.
Trust me guys, you'd know if you got it. It's not just a sense of being calm, it's literally feeling like warm butter.
So basically these people are trying to reproduce thatfeeling you get when the salon washes your hair and then trims your hairline with a quiet electric razor?

...huh.

You mean it's not normal to own a dummy head microphone with lifelike ears?

Just to be clear, Dummy head microphones used for "binaural" recording have been around for decades longer than intentional ASMR has been a "thing" and most professional recording studios have one.

(By "binaural", I simply mean when sound engineers try to record with simulated stereophonic human hearing, not the modern weird Internet usage of "binaural" as in "those headache-inducing tones Chris-chan listens to thinking it makes him become more of a woman").

I was wondering why that thing cost $8k. But that hasn't stopped every single ASMR channel trying to be "reputable" from hopping out and buying one. The search results for the 3Dio Free Space on Google suggest that the only people who are actually buying these things are making ASMR videos.

I also forgot to mention perhaps the most common professional use of a dummy head microphone: the electronics industry uses them to test all kinds of equipment, especially speakers and headphones (obviously). I believe dummy head microphones are also often used in decibel testing of heavy equipment (and hearing protection from said heavy equipment).

But, yeah, ASMR audio produced with dummy head microphones obviously sounds more "real" than ones produced with regular mics bought off the shelf at Walmart, Best Buy, or Radio Shack.

I uh... stumbled upon this ASMR video while looking for something to jerk off to...

Uhm... is this chick a "Freeman-on-the-land", or something. From the title and thumbnail I was not expecting to listen to half-hour political conspiracy theory rant. All her videos are like this. Did she brainwash me into something?

Is this is what its like if you paid for a night out with Alison Rapp?

Most "ASMR" girls seem to just show off their tits while whispering into the camera. Basically softcore camwhores under a nicer sounding title.

But... I aint gonna lie...
Those japanese hentai-ish ear kissing/licking ASMRs are hot as fuck! It starts to tingle in a lot of places nowatimsayin...
