Good lord. I forced myself to watch the fake girlfriend one but I had to stop every 30 seconds because of cringe overload.

I like ASMR videos, but as the market for videos of scratching shit and rubbing ear-shaped microphones became oversaturated, there was some kind of shift towards cringeworthy amateur acting. Kidnapping, hiding from zombies, and being buried alive are not relaxing, and for god's sake why do you need to release trailers for your videos?

He can be a salty fuck, it's true. I see some of his points - there are some "artists" (and I use that term very loosely) who are less about "here are sounds for you to relax by" and more about "here's the camera showing just my cleavage, let me whisper all sexy and moan and make kiss sounds" - but fans of that shit aren't going to be into his ASMR roleplays anyhow.

I've experienced ASMR before and I can assure you that it's not something that can be achieved through cringe YouTube videos.

EDIT:
I'll try to explain it a little better.
When you're experiencing AMSR, the entire back of your scalp goes numb, but it's not a scary feeling.
That numbing sensation goes down your back and into your entire body. It'll last maybe a good 10 - 20 seconds and then the buzz is gone.
Trust me guys, you'd know if you got it. It's not just a sense of being calm, it's literally feeling like warm butter.
I haven't experienced it in years but I remember it clear as day.

Seems like nearly every ASMR fan I seen into has been a hypersensitive closet fetishist that chimps out whenever anyone makes fun of ASMR. Retsupurae made a video a few years back mocking an "ASMR LP" of Civ 5 and the comments got swarmed with angry ASMR enthusiasts denying it was a fetish. Even the people who seem reasonable in their defence of ASMR tend to sound embarrassed.

honestly, queenofserene, bob ross, and the weird ephemeralrift things are the only stuff i can listen to. i totally get why some people would find it weird or unsettling though. rift has some weird shit. example:

Can confirm this is what real ASMR tingles feel like and if you really experience them, it's good for relieving stress and knocking you out. The kissy kissy girlfriend/boyfriend and the "oh look I'm eating" type cringe videos are more fetish related.
