We hadn't seen Tim's sister in a while, and I was going to comment the other day that she might have left as her and Tim's brother were arguing all the time. Today she confirms she's leaving and moving back to Chicago to be a house wife. Sarah is now the property manager and Miracle bought Tim's sisters car. Things have to get much worse for there to be a genuine civil war. It's far more likely we see something that resembles a color revolution or the Arab Spring; mass protests and a resignation of government to preserve the general peace / security of the nation. You could easily look at the mass protests in 2020 and the "election fortification" and say we already had one, and just didn't realize it. Countries of the scale of the US don't just go up in a shooting civil war, Syria style.

They've been drilling and cutting a lot of walls, so I wouldn't be surprised if they nicked something, or they just might have some old wiring/connections in the building that are corroding and building up resistance which is what's causing the smoldering. That's how old houses used to burn down, they had something like tin wiring and the connection points to outlets would corrode and just build up heat because of the resistance.

I wouldn't say fuse boxes on OSB is common, but it's not amazingly rare in buildings designed for work like the compound. You also have to remember houses in the US are made to be way more modular these days so they have a lot of easy to move components that are light weight instead of extremely sturdy construction.

Place was built in 2016, if it's bad wiring it was a cheap home builder, not age, or tin / aluminum wiring.

Now, I am not an electrician, but I am somewhat adjacent in trade. Your theory is solid, in most resi construction they staple the romex to the inside of the wooden studs and if they've been poking holes and pulling data (or worse, mounting things w/o a good stud finder) they could have easily nicked a cable.

As far as the OSB goes, in some places the local code requires you mount a fire resistant backing board between the wall and the breaker box. I think the NEC just requires "properly supporting" of a panel or switchboard and not mounting it directly to a cement wall, so depending on how that wall behind it is constructed that's probably the reason.
