Times when you have felt genuinely sorry for Chris

Didn’t Bob mention in his first letter to Chris that right around the time he met Barb he was “really down and out, [with] no friendship from Alan and Carol and ready to cash in my chips with heart problems that [he] didn't even know about”? I’m guessing he was a pretty strict father to both of them, and Barb only made their estrangement worse. Though, him being that way with how he raised them may have helped push them to be independent and successful. Without Barb around to act as an enabler, a younger Bob probably didn’t take any shit from his children.
It had to be something, both kids writing him off like that, right? Some unforgivable sin. It’s just weird because it doesn’t jive with the basically affable old man that even the trolls prank calling him ended kinda liking. Barb does look like the type of woman to break your spirit, but Bob came from a tougher generation than that. Hard to imagine he’d just hand in his balls so quickly. And if he was a hard-ass drill sergeant of a father to his first kids, it’s actually pretty touching and admirable to soften that up for his special needs kid that he didn’t even want in the first place. To become a guy that got down on the carpet and played legos, watched fraggle rock and learned about video games in his 60s all to better connect with his autistic son.

I’ve said it before, but Barb probably took advantage of Bob’s looseness at the bar where they first met, since I’m willing to believe he was there mostly to drown his sorrows and I guess her latching onto him that night helped him have a little fun and briefly escape that funk he was in.

It’s also kinda strange how he never mentioned much about Patricia. Is she even still alive? Who was the catalyst for their divorce, Bob or her? Or both? What was she even like? I don’t know if she attended Bob’s funeral or not, but I’m guessing they didn’t remain on amicable terms after separating.

I think it's sad that his parents didn't try to correct him on a few of the weirder notions he had about relationships. When you get a girlfriend you don't "build her from the ground up" as he once said. You don't have a formula of "hang out at mall to establish friendship, then go to McDonalds or Burger King for a first date, then two nicer places then have sex after the third date." I'm sure girls don't like being lumped into categories like that anymore than guys do. Relationships are individual matters and all are different. His parents might not have given him much (if any) advice about dating/relationships but the one thing they could have done is dispelled some of the crazier stuff he thought would help him find a girlfriend.

I doubt they knew much of his crazier concepts, like 'building a sweetheart from the ground-up', this was stuff he said online and in his comics, not talking to his parents. How many of your parents knew half the shit you got up to as a kid?

Even knowing this, as a father I know I don't know half the shit MY kids got up to either. :\

Well, Barb caught on to his attraction sign and told Chris it made him look "re.tarded" and during the Chandler family Christmas video, Bob called the Love Quest "phooey." Then there's the other stuff like Chris stealing money from them, and applying for credit cards he had no way or didn't care to pay them back...

To me, the Julie bit always got to me. Not the reveal, and what Bluespike made him do. That was messed up on so many levels, but what came before was worse in a way.

IIRC, he got strung along by "Julie", had videos and chats leaked, his ps3 account stolen and went to Ohio, and still talked to her after all that. Most of us would probably not fall for even one of those, yet he was either so gullible to believe her every time, or so desperate for a girl that he just accepted it as the price to get some intimacy.

Well, dude, did you even try to train your kids to scream about all their problems at the top of their lungs into a camera while also occasionally turning those problems into off-key song parodies? If not, that’s just sloppy parenting on your part.

I think it was both. But damn if Chris was not going to allow his PS3 account to go on ebay (just like his Sonichu account was auctioned off). If he wanted to, he could have chosen his account, be rid of Julie but went through a lot more humiliation and move on. Luckily Chris was clever (loosly) by not recording any video on his end.

His eulogy for Patti legitimately makes me sad. And the cats. I just have a weakness for someone losing an animal close to them, and that dog loved Chris more than any human ever did :(

ehh he loves animals but not enough to take care of them properly. He’s so lazy and neglectful and it sometimes feels like he sees them more like toys that move than actual living creatures. I was really upset when Sorbet got injured because Ive dealt with it before, and I’m a huge cat person

Patricia is still alive. I don't really know the exact cause, but I want to say it's Bob.

One moment where he actually seemed relatable while writing that eulogy for Patti (Even if his ego was visible in it, anyone who lost a dear pet can relate to that). And the second was during the entire Liquid Chris saga that he had to deal with Kacey. She's absolutely annoying to listen to due to her personality and voice and if that's not enough she didn't even add anything to the saga despite being a fat bitch that kept calling Chris fat. Honestly felt like she was taking out the fact that she's a fat bitch that no one wanted on Chris due to him being a weird mirror of herself.

I'm still somewhat surprised Liquid ended up marrying her. He's not a bad looking dude now and definitely could do better.

From what I understand, Liquid is embarrassed by the trolling and just wants to leave it in the past, whereas Kacey still likes to attention whore about it. She's like that 45 year old who peaked in high school and can't stop talking about her "glory days" while all her friends have grown up and moved on.

not saying that’s not absolute creeper behavior, but c’mon, she knew what she was getting herself into by going on a “date” with him. That’s like being mad at a Skunk for smelling like shit. Which also applies to Chris, but still.

She was clear it was a platonic get-together and not a romantic outing.

"Future Message" gives me feels. Because its one of the last pure Chris as Chris moments before he became a sensation. It makes me wonder what would have happened to him if he hadnt been discovered.

Sadly, I doubt it would have been much different. The house would have still burned down, resetting the horde, and Bob would still pass. Bob was clearly the levy containing the faggotry from escaping, so Chris would likely still have gone trans, just slower and more organically. All of the stuff involving Michael Snyder and the Game Place would have turned out the same since that happened on it's own.

Basically, the only things that I think turn out significantly different are no taint-wound, and Chris may still be welcome at TEG.

Watched a video earlier that popped up in my recommended, and it involved when Chris did that Song of Christian thing or something.

I wanna change my answer now. When he said the Lord pressed the mute button or something. I'm not sure what it is about that, but it hit me in the feels.

It was basically when he was about a year old, his babysitter put him in his room with the lights off, and that truamatized him into not talking for 6 years.
