Titanic tourist submersible goes missing with search under way

Worse things happen at sea I guess. Oh, wait...

If you study Buddhism at all there's this really big thing about not inviting tragedy in to your house because of the need of cheap thrills. These people were in need of cheap thrills. Imagine the good you could do, or even the cheap shit thrills you could get for what they paid for one seat in this sardine box. It's like going to sea in a Mac Book Pro. Fun if you've never done it before, but something most people could live without.

Yet...

Anyway, RIP the dead. Say fellas, it's been good to know ya!

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?
The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
T'was the witch of November come stealin'
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin'
When afternoon came it was freezin' rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind
When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin'
"Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said
"Fellas, it's been good to know ya"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the maritime sailors' cathedral
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early

The only person I feel sorry for is the 19 year old, the titanic expert should have looked at that piece of shit and known better.

Also, the Pakistani billionaire made his money by textiles and chemicals in Pakistan. If you know the history of chemicals and textiles in that area, holy lord. Possibly literal slave owners.

I'm sure all the oligarchs that became deep sea fish food have ties to slavery in some way. You don't get that much money without exploiting people.

I would also point out there's a reason a lot of super deep sea manned subs tend to be balls with hatches and/or viewports attached to a chassis which is not a pressure vessel, and in cases like Alvin, a shroud around that ball.

Much stronger design for the actual pressure bearing parts than a tube, and especially a tube made out of a material with let's say uh...long term durability issues related to almost every single environmental factor it is subjected in that environment at those depths.

But you can't fit 5 people into a steel or titanium ball without prohibitive cost to make said ball, so here we are.
If you REALLY want to make a 2+ person deep submersible, you can just make the pressure hull two or more spheres connected in a line.

Good God Almighty. So much to say but it's already been said and memed about so I'll just say the cruel mistress ocean claims another five, and no amount of money and power will make you immune to incompetence.

OH! WELL NOW! So it's just like the chink balloon clusterfuck again. Give me whatever rainbows you haven't given to faggenerates this month but this should signal a few things to the billionaires and bond villain wef fucks:
  1. Your ol' pal government will use you like any other pawns in their plans no matter how much you pay them to do what you want. Especially when you're dead and can't stop them.
  2. Your money will not save you when it matters.
  3. Your globohomo shit will doom you like they've doomed whole countries.
  4. Your pet craptivists and msmites will shit on attempts at rescuing you because illegals sunk and died attempting to furthering the agendas you paid them to push.
  5. Your deaths, tragic or otherwise, will make normie lives better, not worse.
If they realize this, true ww3 will begin with them fucking optics and making their 2030 deadline happen by 2025. Or they won't learn a goddamn thing and have something like this happen again.

Slavery is good actually when it's among their own people and NIMBY. 🚬

It makes a lot of sense. I still won't buy the official explanation because it's the Titanic.

Although, one would think, that for £180,000 a ride, the last thing to happen to this submersible would be incompetence or corner cutting. A £10 donkey ride on Blackpool Please Beach going wrong may cost you a few quid. Literally sinking your £1,00,000~ a go business because you couldn't be arsed checking the systems properly is just insanity.
The fact you're a brit makes me disregard your opinion out of hand on everything.

Many people have lost their lives at sea. The Moon may be a harsh mistress, but the dead old cold old sea is the worst.

I just hope these people died how they said they did: instantly.

Remember the Kursk?

The nuclear-powered Project 949A Antey (Oscar II class) submarine K-141 Kursk sank in an accident on 12 August 2000 in the Barents Sea. It was taking part in the first major Russian naval exercise for more than 10 years. All 118 personnel on board were killed.

They weren't the first, and they won't be the last.

I'd rather take a chance on going to the Moon than diving down in to these treacherous deep waters.

The Industrial Revolution James Cameron movie Titanic and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. The industrial-technological system retards who love that movie for more than just the scene where you see that lady's tits may survive or it may break down.
Well, fucking James Cameron took 33 trips to the Titanic and didn't have these issues, more than likely because he had actual white middle-aged experts whom he relied on for

Holy shit! I just learned that Ocean Gate is a company headquarter in Washington State. For those that don't know, the dumb ass cock sucking governor, Jay Inslee, signed a law which makes it mandatory that companies, especially engineering companies like Boeing and OceanGate, prioritize diversity and inclusion before talent and experience when hiring. Remember that the next time you board a Boeing airplane. DEI and ESG initiatives are killing people. Thank fuck it happened to rich assholes who supported it instead of average Joe's and Jane's who didn't ask for it.
