If I was to go anywhere in Asia, it would be Japan, simply because they are more like the west compared to the other places. Although there is a little cultural difference it nothing compared to those other places. I was recently looking to buy a house in Japan. You can get a house pretty cheap over there. I was going to work here in the winter and go there and stay in the summer. Asia countries I wouldn't visit would be China, Korea, Thailand, and a few others.

Secondly apartments actually go from $500 to $600 hundred a month, and that's not taking into account electricity, water, sewage, trash, gas for car and food. so added onto that it makes it more. You could never afford a house in Japan. Most houses there are quickly bought up to be used as rental properties as smart investors know to buy and rent there and while there's no rules for foreigners from owning a house there, there are issues with the Bank of Japan not wanting to deal with foreigners. Unless you have Japanese family living there you're shit out of luck.
