Why was he so hung up on Doja Cat calling Post Malone "nigga"? Does uber progressive Todd not know that black people use "nigga" in the same way other people use "dude" irrespective of race? Does Todd think you can only call back people nigga?
Basic white liberal approved takes.

Todd likes to use performative pearl-clutching even when it requires lecturing a minority on what to do. he's more outraged at that than her cucking herself for white chuds in that video call but no one cares about that anymore because she puts out good songs

i still think about todd's dumb tar take, because he said "we wouldnt feel any sympathy when its a white man who does these things like in real life" because it reveals a naked truth about todd's thought process. his gf or his former gf turned owner lindsay smeared johnny depp as an abuser and never recanted or apologized, todd doesnt care because evil white men deserve cancel culture. when lindsay disparages chinks and doesnt apologize, beause todd has a worship of white women him and olson stood there and tongued the shit out of her asshole to defend her not apologizing because "it's not a big deal". he holds extreme sympathy for guilty white women over innocent white men to the point of cucking himself to bed a white woman because of his hatred of his own minority status and his worship of the dumpy white woman as a status symbol

The Kendrick Lamar video was really off-putting to me. Maybe he okayed it with his dead friend's family or whatever, but the idea of someone putting on my skin and putting words into my mouth forgiving the person who killed me as me sorta bothered me.

Beyonce is probably the most overrated person in the industry. His comparison of her with Madonna didn't make sense to me because the songs from Madonna's peak have stood the test of time and gets constantly sampled by various types of artists. I don't see any of Beyonce's solo work, especially in the last decade, transcending time and music genres like that.

Finally, I'm convinced the only reason he compares Lizzo to Meghan Trainor is because they're both fat chicks (I guess not so much in MT's case these days but still) and the "bad" one is conveniently white so he can subtly flash his good ally card at the same time.

Sorry, this turned out a bit more ranty in tone than I was expecting.

The only song I know from this list was released 38 years ago, and it's just an honorable mention.

I'm officially old.
I at least recognize the Lizzo and Imagine Dragons songs. But that's just from background. I really don't listen to current pop anymore by choice. At least thank Stranger Things for exposing the Zoomers to good music

That was one of the worst top ten of his i have ever seen. The selection sucks the remix used as a jiggle sucks too, and his opinions lack any zest. He is very mellow on hypocrites diva like Taylor and Beyonce... For exemple Beyonce is milking her gay fans and then flies away to countries were homosexuals are treated like criminals to give secret concerts to oil tycoons... talk about that instead.

I would really like if he shared more about his actual taste in music, because i don't always shares his opinion but i am always open to listening to new stuff. But he seems burned out. He doesn't actually likes monetizing his taste and seems to do it to pay the bills and that's all. It's a job and he doesn't even like it that much.

He is stringy too. He could upgrade his set-up, get a better light, a cooler hoodie. Nothing. 500K subscribers, a decade doing this, and his videos look like he started last month for an audience of twelve.

There used to be a time where I would have at least been familiar with the songs that make his best and worst lists but now these lists feel like the first time I am hearing the majority of these songs. Hell the only reasons I recognized of ABCDEFU was because of a rock cover of it spotify recommended to me. Pop music has never been my thing so it's not like I've fallen out with it. I think it's just a case where these songs are completely forgettable. They don't have a hook that sticks with you. So even if you casually hear them while out shopping or whatever it's just background noise.

We talked about it earlier ITT, basically pop music in general has become a lot more pedestrian and boring, both good and bad. A Dose of Buckley just released a video talking about the Billboard Year End chart and he mentioned how 2022 didn't have that big, year defining hit talked about eons from now.

Also, this is my second time making this thread, since the first time I made this in 2020, it coincided with him taking a break from videos, so maybe I missed a lot of his bigger opinion that hit or missed.

Maybe @Ninon42 could help you with that on account of that fucker being the Chez Apocalypse expert around here. I could also get you his worst songs and best songs list from past years if you wanna look at those.

Honestly like, it's been years. Like 90's percent out of the songs mentioned are boring, grating crap. The good shit sometimes exist but doesn't charts. I typically fish a banger or two out of the top ten + the honorable mentions + the worst list

Just watched the best list. Speaking personally, I've appreciated seeing Todd slowly revert to his roots as a country boy by putting more country stuff on his lists. And seeing Taylor at the top (for, what, the third time?) gave me a heart attack at first. But I've always had a soft spot for Taytay.

On a separate subject, I think the "white people bad" shtick isn't as bad as you guys make it out to be. I just see it as mostly harmless posturing, something he's basically always done. I know this site is pretty über reactionary, but from a moderate standpoint I can't help but feel you guys always take it a bit too seriously.

On another note, I watched the "Unholy" review and the Norm clip killed me. Say what you will about him, but he still knows how to position those clips at just the right moment.
