Ultimately any fantasy or work made by a White author will be attacked. Tolkien’s own views-as eclectic and (even relatively progressive) aside. (Tolkien’s views were generally reactionary but he was anti colonialism on what you might call “little England” grounds).

I mean two of the biggest themes in LoTR are the various cultures overcoming their racial and cultural biases to defeat Sauron and to never underestimate the capabilities of the weak and marginalized in the face of great evil.

Nobody (other than Gandalf), even Sauron himself, ever thought a race like the hobbits would be able to achieve anything great.

How do these people NOT know Denethor's despair was from what Sauron SHOWED him from the corrupted Ithil-stone? That, even though Denethor had some passing amount of authority to use the Palantir (being both The Steward of the King as well as Dunedain), that it wasn't enough to wrench it away from Sauron's control (as Aragorn did when he revealed himself before taking The Paths of the Dead). Zoom-call my ass.
