Total War thread

Damn Space Marine players. A real siege involves artillery. Lots and lots of artillery. So much artillery your Earthshaker rounds blot out the sun itself. The only fighting in the shade comes from the Grenadiers on mop-up, sometimes literally.

I'm just now envisioning some Orks getting into a game (at least in their minds) with a Guardsman artillery battery on who can bring the most Dakka in the big guns possible.

Blood Axes in this instance, actually, and the Guardsmen had hidden det charges inside the chassis so they could just push a button and watch things explode.

This clusterfuck is going to be fun... or forgettable.

-Epic Exclusive
-Looks like shit
-"err... so Hector always beats Achilles, is that intended?" -> "Yes"
-Duels but shittier
-Realistic but also rare mystic stuff
- Saga title
-Everybody on the Epic Store will get it for free

I'll probably get Troy for free on Epic. (Yeah, I know, Chinese spyware etc, but it's not as if I'm not already surveyed by Google 24/7 anyway. Plus I'd rather the Chinese have my info than the authoritarian fuckers who make/influence the laws who apply to me).

I really don't see the point of Troy half-assing the mythical creatures. No it's not an actual minotaur, it's a huge dude wearing a beast skull who's able to fight 100 men by himself.

Either you go the mythical route or the historical one I feel.

I have no intention of ever using the EGS, and that goes double for a sub-par game like what Troy seems to be shaping up to be. I may pirate it in a year or so, if the game is eventually fixed through patches. That said, these "saga" games are bullshit and CA is not getting any of my money for them.

So when is totalwarhammer 2 going to do the flip in to Age of Sigmar. Or as I personally like to call it, Age of Kino ;^).

This really looks...meh. Neither here nor there with the fantasy/historical divide. We don't want to put minotaurs or cyclopses into the game, but we will give heroes full healing abilities and other shit like that. This is a game that pleases no one. At least when you look at 3K, they went "why not both" with the Romance and Records mode. Want to play it more Warhammer like - play Romance. Want it to be historical, play records.

I'm not touching EGS, much like I don't think I'm going to be touching this game. The fact that they kinda hint that Troy will get nothing in terms of long term support means it's not a worthwhile investment to me. I've got Warhammer and 3K to play.

EGS better not touch TWW3 whenever it comes out.

A recent little meme that's sprung into official CA stuff too:

Rome 2 Total War was wildly unstable on release, the day I bought it. It became over time and many updates, a really strong game, and to an extent better than Atilla, which I do love. Warhammer and Three Kingdoms are both excellent, but I don't find the setting so interesting. Thrones of Britannia is worthwhile, but it's largely dead in terms of updates. Troy looks like it could be worse, positively dead on arrival. The original Shogun was my start with the series, and I wonder if the series or game design is bit bloated, although I often enjoy the bloat, dunno.
