Total War thread

I always liked attacking cities in Total War. Vanilla land battles are cool but the city battles were always the best.

Especially since what little Cathay lore about their roster is "think of every Chinese cultural and mythical symbol, now animate it and throw it in". Terracotta warriors, giant statues, dragons, Foo dogs, kirin, kung fu monks and so on.

Ngl, very interested to see what they do with Cathay. Meant to be the biggest human empire in the world, yet we know next to nothing about them.
 
So, after giving this some more thought... FUCK CHINA. They're a goddamn cancer on the Three Kingdoms Workshop, they've started to infest the Warhammer 2 one, and now Total Warhammer 3 is going to be even worse with Fantasy China getting added. Good luck finding a mod to fix what CA broke when the whole damn workshop page might as well be in Simplified Chinese.

They're remastering the original Rome: Total War and I didn't know about it until this video popped up in my recommended yesterday.
Looks pretty good. The same game but with UI and graphical updates. It would be nice to play the original without it crashing between every battle again.

Pretty hyped for it to be honest since it does a lot of graphical overhauls and keeps the old system that I legit prefer over the newer one. It's the first game in a while I'm excited for.

I would be, but we probably won't see a remastered EB mod for it. R:TW was good, but pharonic Egypt always made me die a little inside, and Europa Barbarorum made the game significantly better. Although basic pikemen in city defenses was stupid.

Have they announced they aren't going to transition to the remaster? As far as I know, they're still developing EB.

Shit, I didn't even know they were still active. It would be amazing if they did then. I'm always down for another round of properly supported pikes dominating the world.
