I feel like aftermarket values wouldn't be so ridiculous, if Hasbro's distribution wasn't total fucking dogsh!t (which leads to scalpers pouring gasoline on the fire, by snapping up any new figures on the shelves since they're guaranteed to have an aftermarket value, due to said shitty distribution).

For example, despite Transformers One releasing in the fall and not doing particularly well in theatres (it was an amazing movie, but I guess its marketing sucked) I spent months looking for Transformers One figures on my local Target & Walmart shelves. Mind you, I tried more than 1 store!

That’s assuming they’re still planning to make a sequel. You’ve got to remember that Chris Cocks (lmao) said they’re moving away from producing films and focusing more on video games. Which is a really retarded move on his part, considering Hasbro laid off the people who worked on Baldur’s Gate 3 and wasted $200 million on Deactivate.

I thought the rumors were Hasbro canceled all its upcoming film projects due to the disappointing box office returns of Rise of the Beasts/is potentially focusing on being acquired/a merger?

If it wasn't clear at this point haslab has devolved into "pay us money for a pre-order bundle we're never gonna release any part of by itself a year or 2 in advence because fuck you give us money" and not the "oh retailers don't want big boxes anymore!!!" shit they keep framing it as yeah leokaiser being bare minimum engineering for the figures to the point they in some cases look like knockoffs is kind of the point where if you still think it was ever about retailers and things possibly not selling well enough you're either lying or stupid. This is a fucking COMBINER TEAM people have wanted an official remake of for the last several decades, It's not even a fucking "obscure super big character!" No, it's a fucking COMBINER TEAM.

And that one the main complaint was they came up with some original character/warped version of deathsaurus to be the torso instead of just retooling silverbolt into leozack . That and the "box set in US region only for characters introduced in japanese g1 seasons" thing.

They used a recolored Sky Lynx for the body, which was dumb. I thought maybe that Starscream/Elita-One mold would have made a good Leozack.

I backed this Liokaiser mainly because I wanted Deathcobra, but it looks like that won't happen.

This happens often when the deadline is far out on a haslab that isn't immediately desirable. You've got the retailers that are waiting to see how it performs before committing to X amount of units for resale, the stragglers that are waiting to see it get close to a bonus tier they want, and the budgeters that want to make sure they have the spare cash available before committing. You'll see the number shoot up much faster in the last 10-7 days.
