The "all cybertronians are asexual" thing they tried doing for a bit was fucking retarded when there's transformers with boobas and optimus prime has a canonical GF in elita/ariel. They tried doing gender identity shit to explain it away in thatidw comic and it was stupid and forced and didn't even mesh with their own established lore. Dumb, stupid stupid dumb.

Originally the Arcee thing would make sense when you watch the old G1 cartoon and notice in the beginning there were no "male" cybertronians. Then they just scrapped it because it wouldn't be politically correct because it was forced on her. IDW doesn't want to make good compelling stories, they just want to make the Progressive Left happy instead of just the Left. It's why they're always in the red.

I did like their head design for her for the the Motion Picture comic and the added purple to her. Wouldn't mind customising a figure of her like that in all three styles (legacy, studio/ universe, and masterpiece.

No "male" cybertronians? Have you SEEN megatron? Also they all referred to each other as "he" or by name so I mean it's pretty fucking clear they're supposed to be robot men from space. The fact there's females of their race never really seemed like too much of a stretch to me as a kid or even now years later. Maybe it's the fact they're supposed to be "living metal aliens" that made it never weird to me.

People get sticks up their asses about transformers and gendershit so frequently now, and i've seen it starting to bleed into the other biomechanical races in kid oriented media like how Bionicle's water tribe is both exclusively female and all the females of the race of the tohunga/matoran. As a kid I was like "oh shit that's kinda cool they're kinda like the amazons I guess" but now you got crazy fuckers throwing a shit fit about gender identity and whatever and calling the Bionicle guys "robots" (they're actually organic aliens with exoskeletons). These fucking people never stop and think that the water tribe themselves doesn't have water powers, but just live in an aquatic fishing based town. Not every blue bionicle character is female, not every blue one has water powers, and female characters aren't all in the water tribe. Iit's literally just ONE fucking town in one part of the world.

Unlike transformers though, Bionicle is fucking double dead so they can't add bullshit retroactive gendershit to "explain things" in their usual capacity outside of pretentious video essays.

According to the trailer they're regressing. At least they're doing a better job introducing Unicron and you can tell the robots apart when they fight.
