"Far left" alone doesn't define much, one might be economically far left but socially closer to the right, Stalin comes to mind. The difference between left/right really is collectivism vs individualism and constructivism vs essentialism. This is rooted in the french revolution where it was deemed the "Right wing" Monarchists were more "essentialist" (Their right to rule and the layout of society was rooted in the bible which was seen as fundamental law of the world) while the "Left Wing" revolutionaries were based on perceived artificial constructs. There is also comparing libertarianism to authoritarianism in this, where someone like Mao technically wasn't as authoritarian as Stalin but was so far left his collectivism outdid Stalin's and so was equally dystopian.

Far leftists opposing nuclear power doesn't have anything to do with that and is a matter of ignorance and them being political tools rather than any specific political alignment. They are socially far left and economically hard left (They are too ignorant to even read Marx, the few who do are Far Left though) and just scientifically ignorant. The ones causing the most societal damage is the economic center-left who has abandoned social moderation and cynically embraced social leftism to uproot society. Far leftists oppose nuclear power out of stupidity, these center-left oppose nuclear power on the grounds that it allows self sufficiency and is an actually viable solution to help with the environment.

Leftists oppose capitalism because they believe in socialized control over the means and mode of production, but their economic ambitions are irrelevant as they are subservient to center-leftists who want a distorted form of capitalism where shareholders, NGOs, and bureaucracies own the means of production, not workers or private firms.
