So first he says that his mind is so great that it is above getting a mere job (or at least I think that was what he was on about just a day or two ago?)...and now he's pretty much psuedo-suicide baiting people to donate to him with only the promise of eventually paying them back...in fucking CWCville. A place that does not exist to anybody except Chris.

They were real friends, but like @Marvin mentioned a while back, Chris has a really hard time managing both an offline and an online life. As far as I'm aware of, he hasn't been in contact with these friends in a while, but I doubt Chris cares as long as there's someone around to keep him entertained and indulges his fantasies.
