She now describes this period advocating with 'Cop Block' and 'Free Keene' for the abolition of police as part of the political fringe of the 'depends on the child' movement as 'alt-right' and 'far right'. Seems a little questionable. I mean, if I was going to try to define 'far right', perhaps by the platform of the National Socialist party in Germany, opposition to the enforcement of laws around food safety, drunk driving, drugs, and the age of consent would probably not be on that list. One struggles to think of a point of overlap there.. support for gun rights is the only one I could think of.

I'm not an expert enough about drones vs tanks, but there has been a bunch of recent footage about all the drone use in the Libyan Civil War. Turkey has built some really impressive UAVs, the US can't become complacent.

I'm not an expert enough about drones vs tanks, but there has been a bunch of recent footage about all the drone use in the Libyan Civil War. Turkey has built some really impressive UAVs, the US can't become complacent.

The US isn't complacent, they're just behind. There's been a massive push for Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities to be ramped up, since the US Army and the Europeans got jerked around by the Russians in Syria and Northern Europe, respectively.

This is what they were working on back in 2018

It's notable for being able to carry out offensive EW, including disabling drones or even taking them over. The gear on there was tested as part of the Black Dart anti-drone exercises they've been conducting for the last 5 years.

This particular truck might be superceded by now. Last I heard it's still being built as prototypes, but actually being used in conflict zones. The Army has their EW procurement on a radically fast track, testing out prototype gear in the field instead of doing testing before deployment.

Also, this is in context of the Army merging their SIGINT efforts with their EW efforts. So the final products might be capable of not just disrupting drones, but using their signal to conduct further attacks on enemy sources.

Back on topic, the above EW stuff is just what the Army is working on. I don't think any of it has trickled down to the National Guard, and it certainly hasn't hit domestic agencies or police departments. If it did, there would be a huge outcry if it ever got deployed in civilian areas.

But if worst comes to worst, and some mad lad does approve it being deployed in Portland via the Insurrection Act or whatever... the LARPers don't stand a chance in hell. They won't be able to run anything more complex than a flashlight and carrier pigeons, and I bet some paranoid nerd already has drones rigged to handle the pigeons.
