I don't know where else to point it

I saw the new Assassins Creed trailer. The only thing I took from it is that I still get autistically annoyed when I see it say "A Ubisoft Original" and not "AN Ubisoft Original" with these games
I hate that crap too, they're LARPing as the video game equivalent of Netflix and Prime Video. It's smug and pretentious, and re-enforce that ridiculous idea that "video games are art".

I've only ever heard Ubisoft pronounced as "you-bee soft" even though it looks like "ooh-bee soft"
I swear this is one of those Mandella things cause I never heard "You Be Soft" until like 4 or 5 years ago it feels like.

That too, but it's just par for the course with the industry today.

I think I first noticed it with Far Cry 6, and it made me scratch my head cause like I don't hate on Ubisoft for sticking to their schtick but at the same time it's clearly a fucking schtick and this shit comes out like it's straight off a factory line so WTF are they trying to be pretentious arthouse fags now?

I used to say you-bee soft until I saw an interview with Michael Ironside and he it like eww-bee soft. IMO if Sam Fisher says it that way, it's canon. Also, too bad we'll never get another Splinter Cell. If we do, it will be an open world, military shooter by people with no understanding of weapons, with grindy pay to win xp boosts and microtransaction store. Also Sam is now Samantha and you will respect they/them's pronouns.

So the Year 5 of Division 2 starts this Thursday with a new rogue-like game mode along with the start of a new Man hunt season (with a story this time of building the Castle Settlement). Considering how bad the new team has been lately I hope it actually works but not gonna be surprised if we see some fresh new horrors that will effect the game.

I played a metric fuckton of the new mode during the PTS. The first PTS was, as you'd expect, a shitshow. Second one was surprisingly okay, the biggest issue wasn't a mode specific bug, but just the general crashing issue. Without checkpoints you're at the mercy of fate as to whether or not you can get a good run. Combine the instability with the fact there's basically only one strat/build, and the rewards being shit (literally just buy more caches ala the countdown vendor), and I do not see long term appeal for anyone who isn't an autist willing to play 18hrs plus to go for the record.
Honestly given all the issues we've had with Floor 10, then the Anderson and Faye Lau xp farms, and then the fact the new mode is just a simulation, I was hoping they'd make it a decent xp farm. Instead it's yet another shitty gear farm, and they simultaneously nerfed the shit out of the only even remotely viable open world exp farm, thus guaranteeing if people want to progress at a reasonable rate they're gonna have to find a new way to fuck the game to do so.

Wow, a rogue-like mode in a game that has been crashing randomly since launch. That's going to be fun...

Didn't Macron tell the French to cut this shit out a few months ago, because it's obvious US imperialism?
ubisoft has a big foothold in canada. you know what means...

that's why you ignore their big games that push the pozz and enjoy the "flopped and dead" shit where devs have a lot more leeway to do stuff with less corporate oversight...

they really brought back michael ironside for that

it's still no splinter cell, but serviceable enough, and if you do the mission early (least I think you can) you can pretty much go sam fisher the whole rest of the game.

A tale of modern Ubisoft, told in 3 tweets:

WOMP WOMP.

Also they had a livestream to discuss the new shit last night, and it was marginally better than the last one, but still kinda shit. highlights were
1) They confirmed the new story DLC takes place in Brooklyn. Retards claiming it would be St Louis absolutely and utterly BTFO
2)The exp rework is, as you might expect fucking shit. According to them it's an average of 12% increase over current, except:

Note that's being heavily skewed by settlement blockade getting an insane buff. However that activity is super fucking limited. There's a grand total of one at the map at any time, I'm not even sure what the respawn timer on it is (assuming it even has one) as I've literally never seen it, and if you clear the weekly invasion it goes away entirely anyway.

LMAO they couldn't even fix their mistake today so the game will be unplayable until they start working on it again tomorrow.
Yeah I was just in the middle of doing a follow up post about that:

I wonder if it's related to the fuck up with the deployment system that took several days to fix last time. Also gotta love that update was delayed from it's usual Tuesday release due to a Swedish holiday and now they've up and called it quits for the night ~4 hours into the 6hr extension they announced. Given that sort of attitude it wouldn't surprise me if they don't work over the weekend meaning it won't be 'til this time next week that it is fixed. On the plus side for them they're gonna get a real good, early chance, to try out their stupid new compensation/grants method.
