Ubisoft Sellout - Bankruptcy Speedrun Any% Thread

Christ what does Ubisoft even have left now?
There's a Heroes of Might and Magic game, a new Anno, and mobile Division and Rainbow 6 games and that's about it.

The Division 2 is a flaming shit show with the C String developers fucking things up left and right,
Speaking of, the developers are so fucking dumb they recently managed to fuck up literally the easiest thing in the world (giving the players something free), not once but twice.

Reminder, they shut down the nearly finished division heatland looter game that was already in closed beta because they thought this game would 100% totally for sure gonna blow up if they gave it extra developers
That's not entirely true. They shut Heartland down because the feedback after the multiple betas was overwhelmingly negative, which makes sense since it was both kinda shit and primarily designed as a PvPvE game, which is the literal least popular aspect of The Division games.

How is it that whenever Massive releases an update for The Division 2, something messes up? Only reason I've heard of The Division 2 is how unstable the title is.
It's a multi part problem. Partly it's because the original code was a kludged together mess, and partly it's because everyone who knew how it worked was moved over to Avatar/Outlaws when Division 2 development ended in 2020. They restarted development with a new team from a new studio, but it's both way too small, and way too inexperienced to actually fix anything. Also the devs are all shitters who play on easy difficulties so don't know what the actual playerbase wants.

Is there even a market for Divison 2? How can a piece of shit like this still keep limping when something like XDefiant that has a genuine niche gets shut down?
There is absolutely a market for Division 2, as evidenced by the fact it sold 10mil copies. As for how it keeps limping along it's because until The First Descendant released there was no real competition for a 3rd person RPG looter shooter and the dev resources they spend on it are fairly minimal compared to what they make hawking shitty overpriced skins and season passes to the people still willing to pay for them.

Blame Truth on suicide watch.

He spends a couple minutes talking about XDefiant, then the rest of the video is bitching about Call of Duty.

I was just thinking of what he was going to do now
Poor guy, one game he likes comes out and then it dies due to the case of terminal Ubishittery. I hope he abandons his channel, not because I hate him but to show that even hating on COD is meaningless now, that's how irrelevant the brand has become.
Another guy that really likes XDefiant is JBowen, wonder what he thinks about this as well.

Oh dear, this didn't age well...

If they released Xdefiant on steam they would have made more money and had more players. If Ubisoft wants to trim the fat then get rid of Uplay. Everyone hates Uplay. Put your games on steam. Sure you give up 30% of your revenue but you get more customers.

Remember kids, 70% of $70 is still more than 100% of $0.

It was always the most basic shit but multi-Billion dollar companies fucking it up proves they are all ruled by retards. Since it was abundantly clear that online distribution was the way fucking better than physical in the mid to late 00s especially after seeing music industry completely admitted defeat to pirates and digital game sales was gaining market share over physical and Steam had a massive head-start all they had to do was working on a single launcher with EA, Ubishit, Take-Two maybe some others and they would have crushed Valve with their exclusives. They not only would have save the %30 cut on everything for eternity, they would have a share in the platform which the investors would gobble it up. But when you run like retard you tend to crash so I'm very happy that they have to pay retard tax to Valve since Valve is way less annoying.

Online storefront could have at least been tolerable if publishers invested in them so they'd be worth logging into with game trials, subscriptions to game libraries and extra goodies with the games.

Instead it was just the most basic bitch cheap apps they could shit out.

Watched the JBowen video about the XDefiant shutdown, and oh boy it's just 20 minutes of cope
Then he wonders why the COD fanboys troll him
EightThoughts made a pretty good video about Blame Truth and the others CoD "haters" who shilled hard for XDefiant as the "CoD killer" and lied about the game.
I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but 8thots is a troll. Anyone that takes him seriously clearly never watched him much. He's into starting drama too, do the math.

I get Eight Thoughts and Blame Truth mixed up. They both make outrage content about CoD.

If memory serves, XDefiant didn't even release with private match support. Or even split-screen.

I wanted to get that one since it reminds me of Ghosts Extinction mode. Don't want to buy something that will also be shut down tho, I mean what are they gonna do, make it a SINGLE PLAYER survival horror game? Please, no such thing exists!
same but
>ubisoft
and then checking the reviews it wasn't that great apparently anyway, so nothing missed. meanwhile they could've used for honor's combat for a full fledged RPG or at least co-op, but no...

if you want some spoopy co-op check out dead war. enjoyed the fuck out of it and on sale it's pretty cheap these days (including season pass, imo worth it too for the story and extra levels).

just make another Splinter Cell you baguettefaggots
Thankfully, their Splinter Cell demake is in development hell, and hopefully they will go out of business before they can finish it. Be careful what you ask for, sometimes dead is better.

I am catching up on COD BO6 coverage and oh boy, it looks bad. I am depressed even more at the death of XDefiant, we're back to Cold War-MW2022 era of hopelessness for the franchise. I'm glad something like XDefiant existed, I just wish it could be a genuine alternative to COD for longer.
At the very least it shows that it IS possible to compete with COD. Maybe don't depend on Ubisoft as your published, tho.

So I wonder if this means The Division: Heartland will come out after all. Don't need those devs on XDefiant any more.

Speaking of which, Mark Rubin was in charge of XDefiant, correct? He was also in charge of Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Take a look at this two images from each game:

The menacing, ghost/skull balaclava theming. Rubin must loves skulls.

Yup, kino in both instances.
I hope someone backs up the files and reverse-engineers the game someday, so you can at least play the bots. Ghosts had several different bot modes so you can theoretically still play multi today even if there is no player lobbies.
So I wonder if this means The Division: Heartland will come out after all. Don't need those devs on XDefiant any more.
Ubisoft is bleeding cash, they won't release anything that isn't a guaranteed hit. If XDefiant is done, Heartland has zero chance of coming out.

PSA for people that are thinking about buying an Ubisoft game, there's no guarantee that you'll continue to have access to your purchased title indefinitely.

breakpoint has an echelon class, you can basically play the whole game this way (after doing the crossover mission for it, they even brought back ironside for that).
