Yes, but, this is while Ubisoft exists. What happens when the company finally goes under in entirety? The subsidiary does not hold the IPs. It holds a perpetual license to the IPs.

I found something about removing slot machines from a R6: Siege update, but nothing regarding Vegas. I'm surprised that China is against gambling for its citizens.Remember when China had Ubisoft remove the slot machines from the Casino map in Rainbow Six Vegas?
Gambling is inherently ruinous for development and general populace. It also gave a chance for the more shady group to thrive and the party doesn't like that. Whatever criminal group that are in China are keep on tight leashes by the central government, even those in Hong Kong and Macau which are used by the party to launder money. This is why they hate the criminal groups that are outside the country, whether they are Chinese or not, because they can't control themI found something about removing slot machines from a R6: Siege update, but nothing regarding Vegas. technically this makes no difference. for example, IO interactive technically doesnt own Hitman they own a perpetual license given to them by Squeenix. But they can do whatever they want with it and while Ubi CAN still use their old IP I doubt they willThe subsidiary does not hold the IPs. It holds a perpetual license to the IPs.
Given how they've handled the IPs they're still exploiting I'm totally fine with this. I hope that rumoured Splinter Cell reboot never sees the light of day.while Ubi CAN still use their old IP I doubt they will
It's also why even with china's shitty proclivities, I doubt they'd fuck it up any worse than ubisoft has been doing themselves for the past decade or more now.Given how they've handled the IPs they're still exploiting I'm totally fine with this. Chinks will at least make a game that has enough fundamental appeal to their target demographics to incentivize the buying of whatever mtx they shove in. Ubisoft, like the now standard western dev, just outright hate their own customers and the very idea of making money primarily through game sales instead of government gibs and scamming investors. It's also why even with china's shitty proclivities, I doubt they'd fuck it up any worse than ubisoft has been doing themselves for the past decade or more now.
...and none of the people responsible and who should be punished ... will actually be punished.
I've played a few non-gacha chink games, and all were surprisingly devoid of politics. Maybe it was merely the fact I was playing their equivalent of cRPGs and horror games (Heaven Dust 2 and Killing Antidote), but there was no retarded political sperging, and the games were clearly aimed at a male audience.Chinks will at least make a game that has enough fundamental appeal to their target demographics to incentivize the buying of whatever mtx they shove in
It's actually worse than that.
It restructures and exits bankruptcy or someone buys the assets. The existing library makes money, the company's real problem is the grossly inflated headcount-thats what goes away in bankruptcy. So, what happens to the existing games should Ubisoft go under? They all require the damn launcher and online connectivity, no?
They poof out of existence unless some other entity wants to buy the IP and agrees to maintain the functionality of the games, which most of the time a buyer wouldn't be obligated to do and probably wouldn't want to do seeing as how they'd want to do their own thing with the IPs they're buying rather than continue to support the games that put the previous owner out of business. So, what happens to the existing games should Ubisoft go under? I don't think so. Most of the uPlay integration in Ubisoft games is surface level and not actually needed to play the games as far as I know. It'd only be stuff like For Honor and The Division that would be fucked unless their new owners decided to keep the servers going. So, what happens to the existing games should Ubisoft go under? Are you sure? I tried looking up online to see if I could get around having to use the ubisoft launcher to play my anno games and no one seems to have a work around.I don't think so. Oh I have no idea then. All the Ubi games I own are through Steam so I've never used their launcher. Are you sure? I tried looking up online to see if I could get around having to use the ubisoft launcher to play my anno games and no one seems to have a work around.
Even through steam, you're still forced to use their shitty launcher.Oh I have no idea then. All the Ubi games I own are through Steam so I've never used their launcher.
All they've done is slow the bleedout. Still dying just going to linger longer....and none of the people responsible and who should be punished ... will actually be punished.
