Whether they're shills, bots, or genuinely believe the shit they say it's astonishing efforts are still being made to salvage a Star Wars game the rest of the world has already completely forgotten (484 24-hour player peak on Steam btw lol).

There're also shills in the comment sections and I think the DisneyMarvel retard might be either be a bot or is just very autistic. He keeps saying the same shit over and over again, plus he created his account a little less than 2 months ago.
Pretty much any youtube account that ends in numbers is a bot at this point IMHO.

While Ubisoft can't do a single fucking thing right their equally despised competitor EA seems to be handling the launch of Battlefield 6 suspiciously well. I despise both of them but I can't help but feel BF6 might have a chance at being good. I was very surprised they are bringing back a single-player campaign and they seem to be inviting a lot of people who really disliked 2042 to try out 6.

These propagandistic faggots shall not be getting a single shekel from me, ever again.

Well, Dying Light 2 added the option to replace the ugly nigger woman with a good-looking Asian model for the Chinese market, so there's hope.

I'm genuinely amazed the whole studio didn't get canceled over that.
You gotta be fucking kidding me. Is that a global option or just or China? Any decent pics of the change?

I don't even play multiplayer FPS games. And even if I did it's retarded to pay full price for games from these companies, just wait a year and some executive will want to make U-Play, Origin, whatever the fucks stats look better so they toss it on there for %99 off + all DLCs.

But I mostly wanted to comment that both EA and Ubisoft are very similar companies in terms of struggling(EA way less so) and being extremely hated by their customers. EA, seems to have very high confidence in this product to the point they are actively trying to get people who didn't like the last one to test it out and it seems they have actually taken some feedback from the disaster that was 2042 and made meaningful changes based off of that. Like, I can't imagine it was cheap to add back in the single player campaigns. Ubisoft does not do this and while BF6 isn't out yet if they are really confident in this product to this point there is a fair chance it'll be a success and another example that Ubisoft just has no fucking idea what they are doing.

The issue is that while the management knows "business lessons" - they don't know the product. They have no idea how the product works and assume all products are interchangeable. "Oh people want Live Service Team Shooter? Let's Make Live Service Team Shooter" and that's as far as it's thought through on a management level. They don't even differentiate studios anymore - because they're all just factories to the business.

You see it all over - XP boosters in Single Player games, BioWare (one of the more storied RPG studios ever) working on a PVE Mech Team Shooter, Diablo Phone Games, Multiplayer Dragon Age, and so on.

They really don't get it because a lot of other industries you can just make iterative products - even in Entertainment. A lot of pitches are just "Something meets Something Else", like "Star Wars meets The Office" or "Game of Thrones but Modern", or whatever. Honestly for a while even in Video games they got away with it - Assassin's Creed is largely just "Assassin's Creed in <new location>" until they started tampering with it. A lot of other industries you can get away with "oh no our movie didn't do well, must have been that harassment campaign" and just move on.
What makes it hard in gaming verses the other entertainment areas is intelligence. With movies and TV, you can kind of turn your brain off. With games, its a different story. You have to be thinking either to make split second decisions in an action game or making strategic decisions in a strategy/RPG. These correlate with IQ so the gaming populous is just smarter. Its also why they get interested in the minutia of a games coding. These execs don't get that so they think they can pull a fast one on consumer. It worked for a bit (bolstered by a larger normie audience in the 2010s due to millennials being in/coming out of college), but was never sustainable.

Also, gaming was growing at the time so a lot of execs assumed it was easy money and most big publishers rode the wave. Now the easy times are over. Economy has gone to shit and those normie millennials are in their late 30s/early 40s. Those suits who didn't get the product (as well as a lot of "developers") didn't get that and road the wave. You're back to a market that looks a lot more like the PS3/360 days and they have higher expectation. This kind of market eliminates the people you're talking about

I think this nonsense really peaked with Battlefield V. What WWII soldiers actually looked like:

What EA decided to go with for the trailer:

I'm almost nostalgic for these controversies now. At least it was kind of funny.

The model was made for the Chinese version, then they finally released it for the rest of the world during the Chinese New Year event earlier this year.
I shared a few pics but I don't remember in which thread.

Anyone got any thoughts on AC: Unity? Was looking over some of the older games that I never completed; I never did get too far into this one in comparison to the other AC games, so I was curious as to what everyone's thoughts on Unit were? Story, gameplay, etc.

I know a lot of people got pissed off at Unity back in the day; aside from French people apparently being too stupid to notice the lack of French accents - according to Ubisoft - apparently the game also got criticism for being "anti-revolutionary" or some crap? I dunno.

Gameplay-wise, I had difficulty getting into it; the parkour just felt REALLY wrong for whatever reason, the combat was confusing, and I had a difficult time even getting the map to work. Anyone else have any issues with it, or was it just me?

I did, unity was the first AC game where I noped out part way through. Storywise I don't really remember much except it feeling like a shitty knock off of Romeo and Juliet. Mostly I remember it for being an absolute fucking shitshow perofmance wise, and for the whole multiplayer/co-op thing they pushed hard, for being absolute fucking ass.

Yeah, the game was memed on for being an absolute fucking mess on launch, especially online. Do note that back then, we had some form of quality standards, so the game being broken on day one was still unacceptable and would get you laughed out by gamers.

Biggest issue I had with Unity was how much of the control scheme was changed. All of the earlier games went through changes but Unity felt like it was taking a rather large step back, to something similar (or worse, really) to 2 or Brotherhood. Going from 4 which I think had, to that point, the most streamlined parkour and combat controls to Unity took some getting used to and I never liked it compared to 4 or the later games.

Combat was tedious. Just in general, and much worse than 3, 4, or Rogue where if you messed up badly you might get a horde of guards after you. In those games it didn't take too long to deal with. In Unity it took forever. Also oh my god enough with the FUCKING CHESTS, holy SHIT.

The story really fell flat and I don't remember anything about it. I can kinda say the same about most of the other AC's, but at least with those I can remember the general gist of things, some main story beats and some lines, etc. I really can't remember shit about Unity. The French Revolution setting was almost completely wasted, it's a real shame.

How does Unity compare to Syndicate? I skipped Unity because I thought it was another one of those forced multiplayer games that were all the rage at the time, but I eventually picked up Syndicate and it played like every other AC game, just with the addition of a pretty useless grappling hook because it was so situational.

they spent who knows how long making a rather sick parkour system only to ditch it in syndicate for whatever reason

I finished all the AC games from 1 until origins as they were coming out, I legitimately can't distinguish the combat from 2 to syndicate in a meaningful way. 3(Desmond part is a walking sim you can watch on youtube with horrible ending that spiritually and fundamentally killed the series), Unity and Syndicate are legitimately just waste of time. Boring setting, characters and story. The only positive I can say is some Unity stealth missions, specifically DLCs have cool areas that offers creative ways to complete.
