This guy is a stuttering loser but he definately has some good points. Basically anything that appears on Toby's tumbr has been important.
I remember completing the first chapter of Deltarune, going to his old abandoned tumblr for shits and giggles and finding all the card kingdom designs with a date of 2011.
I went fucking ballistic.

i think my favorite schizo theory regarding Toby and old ass discarded content is this one involving an unused song from Homestuck making a comeback for Deltarune
In short: Toby made a song for Homostuck, which leaked and when asked about it he responded with "AT SHADOW'S EDGE, SHATTER THE TWILIGHT REVERIE" which vaguely sounds like the prophecy from deltarune. One of the leaked versions of the song also had ocean sounds, which could tie with the "song of the sea" Onionsan mentions, and the leitmotif of the song even plays during "hopes and dreams" althought very faintly.

Honestly this is more plausible than half of the batshit Gaster theories the fandom churns out on a daily basis. Maybe it's true maybe it's not. But I honestly have a soft spot for these kinds of schizo theory crafting and speculation fandom videos. They're basically the video game equivalent of tin foil hat conspiracy theories and can be pretty entertaining if the presenter isn't pretentious or generally annoying.
There's just something the human brain likes about making connections and finding patterns. Activates the old neurons.

There was an update post today talking about how Chapter 3 was being finished up and is a bit coy regarding the chapters afterward (Remember that he's releasing the next 3 all at once).
He talks about submitting a shitposty song when a company asked him to compose for a rhythm game with absolutely no direction before confirming his role on We Baby Bears.

Reading through the beginning of this thread to now really shows how shitty and weird society has gotten because of culture war shit.
It started out just enjoying a quirky offbeat game and was enjoyed as a game normally is. Now there's just constant culture war crap, philosophizing not based on the games themselves but on Muh Current Year frameworks and in general taking things way too literally or seriously or trying to give everything a "real life equivalent," the likes you didn't see before about 2018-ish.
It's just sad. Anyway I read through it because I remembered really liking Undertale back when it first came out and wanted to get a bit of that fresh feeling again.
I'm not really too keen on Deltarune because I don't like playing unfinished games, but I hope an interesting and coherent story comes out of it.

Deltarune is going pretty well so far, and It's doing well enougg writing wise that a lot of people are pretty certain of said stories themes.

I said it before the HDD fail and it got wiped but you do NOT want bad Toby writing, that's how you get Alphys.

Chapter 3 is finally done according to Toby. How long Chapter 4 will take is a mystery... also him ignoring the difficulty complaints is based.
This is something I wasn't expecting but if the next two chapters are anything in terms of quality that Chapter 2 was then I'm all for the earlier purchase date!

I've yet to read the full email because I'm en route to my Halloween reservation but that producer comment is giving me the chills.
I enjoy UNDERTALE when it's unadulterated Toby and it's all very obvious when it's not.
Some random asshole putting his gonads all over the pie isn't sparking joy.
I know that he's essentially trying to make this development team "Homestuck but good" but Toby should keep in mind that once upon a time, Homestuck itself was trying to be "Homestuck but good".
