I really enjoy this obscure Japanese hip hop group, which sadly seems to have vanished from the earth after releasing 2 albums. The rapper's voice is one of those "love it or hate it" kinda things, but I really like how she brings out the natural flow of the Japanese language in a way that's almost reminiscent of traditional song or poetry. Unlike a lot of Japanese hip hop that's very strongly influenced by the American roots of the genre, it's kind of doing it's own thing.
This kid is someone I've been following for awhile because of the autistic skizo sounds he puts together
What I know of this kid is that he's from New Jersey after reading his bandcamp which is full of releases that have a sound quality comparable to Bathory's Nordland album.
everything in my post history would count unironically. i dont think i posted any normal music on here. however here is something i think is amazing but quite unusual compared to most conventional music.
now for something completely leftfield that i absolutely love.
Got a million songs I could post but I'll just post two for now. Pretty out there shit, but not overly so. First one is Melt Banana. A cool, really high energy noise rock band from Japan. Saw them live back in like 2012 or so and it was so much fucking fun.
Next is Colin Stetson. A saxophone player that utilizes the circular breathing technique while singing through his mic'd up saxophone to create some really eerie, yet kinda pretty alien music. He's done the scores for a few movies, including Hereditary and Colour Out of Space, and is doing the music for the cartoon adaptation of Uzumaki.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=2dQ2-t_v25gI personally don't find them that 'unusual' but I've heard people say "what the fuck is this shit you're listening to" before, so I'll just throw it in here. I think they're fucking amazing.
Dillinger is great. I took the opportunity to see them on their last tour and it was quite the experience. As much as I selfishly wish they didn't break up, I'm still glad they ended on the note they did. One of Us Is The Killer will probably be in my album rotation until the end of time.
You may have heard of them before, but appropriate to link anyway:
