Barb reminds me of God Emperor of Dune where Leto II gradually transforms into a sandworm.

Anyway, having given this some thought: jesus, she's bitching about a man in his 80s not helping her lift shit. I mean, we know Chris is a lazy sack of shit, but blaming Bob for not lifting shit is pretty shitty. This confirms the fact that Bob just didn't give a shit anymore. I don't blame him. Again, there's a pattern. In the "Bob Walks In" call he basically tells a jerking-off Chris to "go wake your mother, don't bother me". That's probably why he ignored all the screaming and tard raging coming from Chris's room.

If that was the case Barb would've used the massive speed and energy of the pre-worm phase to burst several houses full to the brim with Barbage.

I don't know what Barb means by "wagon", but I'm imagining an entire pioneer wagon being dragged upstairs.
 
You know,she almost sounds like a reasonable person in this transcript, saying Chris can do a lot more and he should help out. She just sounds like a slightly off, but normal tired old lady asking her dead shit son for help around the house.
 
I don't know what the deal is with the Kacey bashing. It certainly wasn't the most entertaining trolling effort but she actually got fatty see the doctor, discover he can earn money with his tugboat and apply for jobs leading to an actual interview. I still haven't listened through all the calls but that's quite impressive.

Edit: I assume that Chris wasn't lying about getting the interview.

I don't think he is capable of even percieving the trauma to remember who he was for that to be poiniant. Or is the joke that Trash-Empress Barb would have more pieces of precious, human barbage?
 
Kacey definitely sounded annoying, but everything she said was true. Seriously reading e-mails is stressful? Unless it's news telling you that someone just died or something, um, no. And if getting hit by a garbage bag is the worst thing that ever happened to you at work, you're damned lucky. (Try having to deal with customers getting into a fight at your register, and then having one sling a racial slur at the other. No, I'm not kidding)

Barb would just keep on living, no matter how miserable she became. Leto let himself be killed because he knew it was necessary for the Golden Path. Barb isn't that noble, and the Chris-gholas would just get stupider and worse with each cloning, and would never stand up to her. It would be a cycle of misery and fail and Barbage. The Barbage might extend life for Barb, but it sure as hell wouldn't expand her consciousness.

We know Barb was a pretty selfish woman and all that, but to be fair, Barb was pretty old already by the time of this recording, to bitch about Bob was unreasonable but to ask Chris to help around the house was not out of the question. If she was risking herself and fell twice while moving, that is definitely a red flag. So I wonder if part of Barb's laziness was in response to her son's laziness, she thought if he wasn't gonna help her clean, then fuck you! Look at what happened with the spaghetti, they didn't want it so she stopped cooking for them, so maybe she got tired of Chris being a lazy little shit and stopped cleaning up after him. It was a unhealthy family all around to be sure.

I remember hearing this call. don't know why Chris left Kacey on the phone that long while talking to his mother (Laziness). I would have just told her I would call her back.
 
This to me seems like Barb was trying to encourage Chris to start getting serious about life. It was almost like she was pushing him to consider working or making more of an effort with not just the house, but other parts of his life. How she seems to steer him away from his concerns about the copyright of Sonichu as though it's important to Chris, in the grand scheme of things it isn't that important. But her explanation isn't very clear.

His incredulity at being told he needs to start doing work around the house. That was funny :)

I looked up the Lars call after people mentioned it here. Aside from Chris not really understanding what Lars is saying, he does seem to be trying to get out of promising anything concrete in order to get Jackie. It's all;

"I'll honestly do good things for her. I can't say what now and I won't be held accountable to anything, but you have my word I'll do something at some point in time".

Now I understand what people mean when they talk about Chris and how he tries to wriggle out of any commitments or get whatever he can for free.

Anyway. Reading this, I find myself frankly a little bit disturbed by the fact that Barb simply accepts the fact that her son humps a plastic woman. She knew that Chris wanks, but I kind of assumed it was something she'd found out about by accident. This is a whole new level of weird. I don't know if it's that she herself has a weird attitude towards sex (which wouldn't be surprising) or if she thinks Chris' autism is liable to turn him into a rampaging lust-monster if his desires are not sated with an artificial woman.
