Disaster Updates on the Las Vegas Shooting - this is not the shitposting thread you are looking for

Thankfully, we have a great thread for all of your retarded arguments about gun control or whatever is going on in there at the moment, but for the rest of us there is a ton of shit coming out so we'll keep track of it here. If you want to argue like a retard, once again, the containment thread is perfect for that. So fuck off with that shit in here. Same with speculations. Keep this thread mostly for hard facts and discussion of said facts.

Basic Bitches Facts

  • 59 people were killed (including the gunman), and according to police sources, at least 527 were injured.
  • The shooter is Stephen Paddock, 64, from the area.
  • The FBI said he was believed to have acted alone.
  • He opened fired on the Route 91 Harvest Country Music festival in Las Vegas
  • About 22,000 people were attending the festival at the time
  • His sniper nest was in a corner room he rented on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel & Casino
  • 23 guns were found in his hotel room, with another 24 at his various, alongside explosives and thousands of rounds.

Facts about the victims
  • Multiple portraits of the victims have been published so far, if you want to get really depressed.
  • Three of them have yet to be identified
  • It's also important to remember: a lot of the victims are in critical condition and the death toll may keep rising, unfortunately.

The Updates:

This is where it gets interesting:

What Stephen Paddock did was highly professional. According to the last press conference by Undersheriff McMahill, two cameras were set up in the hallway in order to see SWAT team approaching, as well as one through the hotel room's peephole. Additionally, Stephen Paddock set up a camera inside of the room filming himself and possibly streaming it.

The Las Vegas gunman responsible for shooting over 550 people reportedly filmed himself during the rampage, according to multiple reports.

The latest revelation into shooter Stephen Paddock on Tuesday is that he had cameras set up in the hallway to know when police were closing in on his position but also reportedly had a device recording him in his hotel room as he fired upon thousands of concertgoers.

“Las Vegas madman Stephen Paddock set up a camera inside his hotel room to capture his deadly shooting rampage — and other surveillance in the hallway to alert him as cops closed in on him,” the New York Post reported.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Tuesday that the FBI is reviewing all the footage recovered from the crime scene.

In the weeks prior to the shooting, Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines, Australia and possibly the Middle-East. He also recently visited Dubai according to certain reports, as did Marilou Danley.

First called a person of interest, then unrelated to the shooting, now she is back on the FBI's shitlist and still in the Philippines. There are reports she might be on her way back to answer questions but there is no certainty either way right now.

Leaked pictures have shown he left a note behind, but we still do not know what was written on it

And in case you didn't think he was already enough of a monster, turns out he used to work for the IRS

The Charlotte Observer reports:

The Las Vegas gunman who killed nearly 60 people at a country music festival worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, an IRS agent and in an auditing department over a 10-year period.

A spokeswoman for the Office of Personnel Management told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Stephen Paddock's employment included about two years as a mail carrier from 1976 to 1978.

After that, he worked as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service for six years until 1984. And then he worked a defense auditing job for about 18 months.

Paddock also previously worked as a defense contractor sometime during the late 80s, and graduated college from Cal State Northridge in 1977.

The next Hitler is probably a DMV employee

"McCletchie argues Metro has had three months to show they are still investigating, and that there are in fact other suspects, and said enough is enough; the public has a right to know what happened.

"There are important therapeutic effects of getting information out there after a tragedy," she said. "The public has a right to know and shouldn't just have to rely on what the sheriff and other law enforcement is saying."

Metro said they cannot discuss why they cannot release evidence because it would negatively impact their investigation and asked the judge for an on-camera or private meeting to prove their case. Judge Cadish gave them until next week, and said by the end of next week she will decide whether information related to the search warrants will be unsealed, remain sealed or if she needs to have a meeting with Metro.

Attorney Maggie McCletchie said one week is too long and said every day that goes by is another violation of the first amendment.

"The public has a dire need to know what happened on 1 October," McCletchie said."

I guess those witnesses claiming they saw or heard another shooter werent wrong :story:

I was honestly worried there was another mass shooting in Vegas because the media at large seemed to decide this incident was no longer interesting about a week after it happened.

Yeah to be honest, the las vegas shooting was very very shady imo. They seemed to ignore it quickly and alot of witnesses were dismissed quickly. Now we have a court case thats halted because the fucking police department and government kept the fact that other suspects were involved. Now why the fuck would they push forward in the indictment case without finishing? Alittle odd to say the least

They are probably just trying to connect something to that weirdo girlfriend or her family somehow.

Yeah, I agree. A few days ago another article mentioned they had her fingerprints on the evidence. So it would be only a matter of time before the law chargers her.

And I don't know if there are other unknown suspects but it's possible I guess. Scary to know if there are, they're walking around free!

That's because there was no way to blame Trump or white people.

There's no crazy manifesto, no online foot print, he didn't even seem to have so much as a parking ticket to his name.

Then you get into his behavior, before the shooting it goes to the casinos and pays off his debts, gives his girlfriend a $100,000, then settles in to shoot a bunch of people?

I mean if your plan was to go out in a hail of gunfire why bother paying off your debt?
If your plan was to escape, again why bother paying off your debt?
If he was mad about gambling losses, why pay off your debt?

The whole thing just doesn't add up, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to learn it's Islamic terror, in particular with his connection to the Philiphines.

He was an arms dealer.
Yeah I heard that rumour - that he was selling weapons to 'youths' who have now disappeared into the population, and that's why the police and media have been silent about it.

Interesting if true, but snackbars use trucks nowadays so who knows.

Weapons Dealer to the ME. Got found out. Forced him to either risk their wrath or carry out a terror attack in line with their ideology. Paddock would have no connections to them, so it would insulate them and let Paddock take the blame, while still sowing terror.

The police report is available to the public (scroll down). According to it, the girlfriend said he grew distant for the past year, backed up by his physician noting during his last physical his behavior was "odd" and he showed "little emotion", and while there, Paddock didn't want to talk about bipolar disorder, so he wasn't put on medication for it. On page 47, it's confirmed they found several hundred images of CP on a second laptop he had with him (so he's no different from his brother). Police determined he acted alone, and according to the autopsy, his death was caused by an interoral gunshot wound and is thus ruled a suicide.

Looks like he was just a bipolar pedophile then.
And yet we've become so polarized we have to blame bipolar pedos on the opposing political party.

lol fml.
