Is the Right comfortable with saying Reagan and the free trade ideology that removed good paying jobs from America was a mistake?
Yes dumbass. The "right" is currently being run by democrats of 20 years ago. Which is precisely what the "conservative" movement was designed for. Until you idiots realize you aren't dealing with the fundies that didn't want you playing dungeons and dragons you will not get anywhere. There is no small goverment party, there is no free trade party. Reagan fucked up.

In more important news, how does the farms feel about a third term?

The seethe over the next few days will be astronomical as the switch 2 has been confirmed to have delayed its preorders because of tariffs, and the console was already expensive itself with the games being a even greater travesty.
Feels like even giving a preorder date was something the retailers wanted more than Nintendo. Because if you registered to preorder on Nintendos own website you won’t get an invite until May. I doubt the price is going to change much on the system, especially if the countries are already in talks. The biggest seethe seems to be coming from the same retarded libshits who don’t know how to read or understand the world, or the Brit*sh if you go on the comments of sites like NintendoLife and etc. Certified retards crying and screaming about shit they don’t understand or care to learn about because a new toy might be delayed or cost more.

The Right, the most ardent capitalists, spent 30 years saying how based and epic it was that we could buy cheap goods from China when we sent all our manufacturing overseas. Free trade was largely a Reagan creation and the Right still sucks him off to this day. NAFTA was only protested against by leftists at the time now it's correctly stated by the Right that NAFTA was a mistake.

Is the Right comfortable with saying Reagan and the free trade ideology that removed good paying jobs from America was a mistake?
Yes. The right who wanted nafta and free trade are buddies with the democrats who helped pass it. Thanks Bill!

Adjusted for inflation, Switch games cost the same as SNES games did when they were new. Some SNES games even cost more, depending on how much storage was on the cart.

Also, the Switch 2 and it's Games' prices were set months ago, so the tariffs cannot have anything to do with it, unless they decide to raise the prices this week during the delay.

Unfortunately, union membership has declined significantly since the 1970s along with good salaried jobs through laws and punitive justice and I don't think it will ever come back. Look at all the Right to Work states and other laws and policy designed to break up unions.
True, but a lot of those right to work laws are backlash to unfettered union support for Democrats. They start switching sides while getting a shit ton of new members and all of a sudden that whole Right to Work thing might slowly start to be dialed back (with little fanfare). If these tariffs actually manage to bring the auto industry back to the US it'll be hard to ignore the kind of numbers the old unions will be showing.

Might just be wishful thinking on my part, of all the Democrat voting groups I've liked union people the most. At the end of the day they want to own a home, work a job that isn't shit and decentralize power in their respective industries. It's an honest and reasonable thing to want. Obviously union organizations are very far from perfect and get corrupt as all get out in their leadership but it's hard to argue against their core ideals. If there's a chance that this common ground is recognized and brings them together with people who really want to see America succeed outside of foreign influence than I think it's at least worth it to risk a little optimism. Optimism has been working out pretty well for me lately anyway.

Did everyone just sleep through the PS5 Pro price near riots a few months ago? Or the last 4 years of Biden where everything besides TV's doubled or tripled? People acting like prices going up in the last week at all is some new thing.

Oil is down, gas is down. That's what I wanted to see most from Trump on inflation. He promised 50% cut end of first term. If he gets close to that I'll be relatively ok as long as we get otherwise still less than under Biden, and it's looking likely on that for now.

In more important news, how does the farms feel about a third term?
I'm not sure about a 3rd term, but making him eligible for it would make Vance/Trump possible, which would cause the maximum amount of butthurt possible outside of Trump/Vance 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Game prices have not matched inflation for a while. An adjustment was always coming, I just don't think anyone expected fucking NINTENDO to do it.

I wouldn't mind having zion Don again, but then I think about having kamilla for that long. But then again, they were just going to use her and Biden as figureheads to pass shit, along with shitty judges being in place.

TLDR it's a coin toss for me.

The vast majority of the stuff we import people could make for themselves.
At least one of the industries you named is controlled by patents, a special relationship and very friendly reciprocal tarrifs and you will be getting access to enough of it to onshore.
You're welcome.

I like Trump and I wouldn’t be against but I think I’d prefer to see new blood but with Trumps same desire to Make Shit Great Again. Vance so far seems like a great choice and I think passing the torch to him would be better than a third term.

This nigga gonna shit on rates, figures.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Friday that he expects President Donald Trump’s tariffs to raise inflation and lower growth, and indicated that the central bank won’t move on interest rates until it gets a clearer picture on the ultimate impacts.
In a speech delivered before business journalists in Arlington, Va., Powell said the Fed faces a “highly uncertain outlook” because of the new reciprocal levies the president announced Wednesday.

Though he said the economy currently looks strong, he stressed the threat that tariffs pose and indicated that the Fed will be focused on keeping inflation in check.
“Our obligation is to keep longer-term inflation expectations well anchored and to make certain that a one-time increase in the price level does not become an ongoing inflation problem,” Powell said in prepared remarks. “We are well positioned to wait for greater clarity before considering any adjustments to our policy stance. It is too soon to say what will be the appropriate path for monetary policy.”

The remarks came shortly after Trump called on Powell to “stop playing politics” and cut interest rates because inflation is down.
There’s been a torrent of selling on Wall Street following the Trump announcement of 10% across-the-board tariffs, along with a menu of reciprocal charges that are much higher for many key trading partners.
Powell noted that the announced tariffs were “significantly larger than expected.”

“The same is likely to be true of the economic effects, which will include higher inflation and slower growth,” he said. “The size and duration of these effects remain uncertain.”

Focused on inflation

While Powell was circumspect about how the Fed will react to the changes, markets are pricing in an aggressive set of interest rate cuts starting in June, with a rising likelihood that the central bank will slice at least a full percentage point off its key borrowing rate by the end of the year, according to CME Group data.
However, the Fed is charged with keeping inflation anchored with full employment.
Powell stressed that meeting the inflation side of its mandate will require keeping inflation expectations in check, something that might not be easy to do with Trump lobbing tariffs at U.S. trading partners, some of whom already have announced retaliatory measures.
A greater focus on inflation also would be likely to deter the Fed from easing policy until it assesses what longer-term impact tariffs will have on prices. Typically, policymakers view tariffs as just a temporary rise in prices and not a fundamental inflation driver, but the broad nature of Trump’s move could change that perspective.
“While tariffs are highly likely to generate at least a temporary rise in inflation, it is also possible that the effects could be more persistent,” Powell said. “Avoiding that outcome would depend on keeping longer-term inflation expectations well anchored, on the size of the effects, and on how long it takes for them to pass through fully to prices.”
Core inflation ran at a 2.8% annual rate in February, part of a general moderating pattern that is nonetheless still well above the Fed’s 2% target.
In spite of the elevated anxiety over tariffs, Powell said the economy for now “is still in a good place,” with a solid labor market. However, he mentioned recent consumer surveys showing rising concerns about inflation and dimming expectations for future growth, pointing out that longer-term inflation expectations are still in line with the Fed’s objectives.

The biggest problem with the unions is they operate for the union bosses, not the members. The bosses get six-figure paychecks regardless of what they do, so they are more than happy to let a plant shutter due to the company going bankrupt as long as they are keeping the DNC happy.

Mario games don't have battle passes, so I guess you just gotta pay up front.

Union bosses do for workers' rights what Wayne LaPierre does for gun rights.

Art of the Deal already? I really wonder how long these other places will cut off their noses to hurt Orange Man Bad instead of being smart and working with him?

China tariff live updates: Trump says Vietnam is negotiating a deal, Nike shares rise

Vietnam has asked the Trump administration to put on hold its planned 46% tariff on imported Vietnamese products for up to three months to enable further negotiations to take place.

I sometimes drive by the factory my grandmother worked at for 30 years, it employed a huge chunk of the town and it employed people in my town since before the Civil War. In the 90s it went south with people being laid off and shifts being shutdown, until in 2000 the company moved to Mexico. Now the building sits in rough shape and is used for storage. My dad's first job was creating shoes and combat boots, with that job he was able to move out on his own, get a car and start his life. Now that building has been torn down, a major factory section of my town is falling apart, one of the buildings was flooded out and nothing has been done about it. One of the most beautiful neighborhoods in my town used to be full of middle class houses, well kept lawns, and multiple factories where people would make all kinds of things now looks like a warzone, with all the buildings falling apart, overgrown lawns and fucked up roads, all those houses have now been taken over by slum lords and were made into apartments full of psychotic junkies, they robbed a Dominos delivery driver and stabbed the fuck out of him for 30 bucks a while back.
In cannot recommend enough to you or anyone to read Orwell's "Coming Up For Air". It's by far his best fiction book. It talks about the same shit happening right before WW2 in Britain. "The Road to Wigan Pier" for his non-fiction delves into it as well. What you descrivbe and we've all seen over the last 40 years he talked about 50 years earlier and he's quite insightful.
