All of this China Taiwan talk assumes that China is dumb enough to sever their most lucrative trade deals with those in the US/NATO sphere of influence. China will be a paper tiger as long as its internal stability is dependent on foreign money flowing in, Taiwan is simply not important enough to risk all that, not to mention actual retaliation. What's the point of discussing all this shit without consequence.

For what it's worth the Iranian response of 'nothing is damaged and everything was moved out long ago' is an indication that they don't plan on retaliating directly. The US intentionally didn't use any of the mideast bases and apparently even gave direct warnings beforehand.

It's probably going to be something like the Soleimani killing (which was much more consequential and confrontational) or at least that's what Trump hopes for.
