Valve introduces Steam Deck

The article lists its source as SteamDB, so here's their list. I skimmed through, and the game with the highest-end video card as its minimum requirement is Resident Evil Village, which asks for a GTX 1050 Ti. So, that's interesting.

There are also some porn games on that list, which made me lol.
Looking at that list, they seem to be mostly visual novels, so it makes sense they'd be steamdeck compatible.

I played through multiple games from the Playable list on Proton with no trouble. Could be that the games require text input or sth which disqualifies them from being Verified.

The deck is too big to hold in one hand, who designed this? :(

There is a fan site that actually details what criteria a game failed to be verified:

Looks like a lot of MMOs and assorted chinkshit are out, due to anti-cheat software. Based
EAC is the biggest slayer of games right now, with having to manually bring up the keyboard being the main reason playable games aren't verified.

As far as unplayable games go, the only one I'm lamenting is MCC

iirc epic decided to "fix" EAC after they bought it to make it work on the deck, but the devil is in the details. dunno if it was posted here (rate me late) or somewhere else, but apparently that only means EAC 2.0 which devs have to support specifically - and which only works with epic store. haven't really looked into it but it's easy to believe.

Looking forward to getting mine, but hot damn it sucks waiting for at least 5 months
Same here but it's great since it allows me to learn more about it while waiting. Like apparently the cheapest one can run just as well as the most expensive model, only downside is getting more SD cards for the cheap one which is better in the long term

You should be able to play that without EAC tho

I meant MCC

Man, how is it possible for this thing to trigger so much autism. Was browsing v and g during the downtime and both had threads popping up about the deck with a bunch of anons screeching about it being the worst dumbest thing ever. Worst part was I don't think they were all butthurt Nintendo fans. People on g were screaming that a desktop (lmao) is better or a laptop (less autistic than suggesting a desktop but still dumb).

One of my favourite comments was some anon saying people are stupid for buying a deck because you are paying to beta test new hardware. Literally an argument you can apply to every console that has ever been released.

Or you know, just get an Xbox console with the OG Halo. Its not like you are missing out anyway with multiplayer now that the nuHalo-fags are busy wanking over Infinite.
