Modern Ubisoft games are just gaming fast-food.
Bad quality and full of identical and questionable ingredients, but big serving size and for some reason ravenously popular amongst millions of 90IQ normies.
Most of them even unlock the final mission to kill the super evil generic bad guy after like a third of the game is done.
Even Ubi themselves do not expect anyone to actually finish their 80 hours+ serving of digital goyslop.
With very few exceptions, these are all either pirate or play for "free" on gamepass titles. The 70$+ asking price is little more than a hidden IQ test at this point.

Depends on the CPU, this crop of Ryzen CPUs have been deliberating targeting ~95c
It's whatever CPU is in an Acer Nitro 5 from a couple years ago. I really don't know shit about computers, but part of it feels burning hot and I'm a little concerned.

Is it normal for my CPU to heat up to 200 degrees when I'm playing games, or am I doing something wrong?
When it hits 95+ it should automatically throttle to stop itself from melting.

I had a heat problem recently, and it turned out the cause was a downdraft cooler that was surrounded on all sides by raised parts (RAM, VRM, and a card) so the air had nowhere to go.

Bad thermal paste can be another cause of these kinds of problems.

You might have gotten a lot of crud and fat stuck in the fans so they can't vent properly no matter how hard the fans try.

I blew the air intake out yesterday so the flow shouldn't be too bad now, but it was pretty dusty. Maybe the thermal paste is already temperature shocked out of existence, idk. I guess I'll sit the computer on a window fan and see if that improves anything, that seems pretty cheap.

I need to replace my broken, gay 360 controller with one of these newfangled Hall Effect controllers that doesn't get drift. Any recommendations?

I've been playing Chivalry 2 again. Last year I was having ping issues all the time, couldn't find a game where I had less than 100 ping. Now I can usually find a 40 man mixed mode match making or standalone server with around 40 ping. I dunno what changed but I'm quite glad for it.

It's been really, really fun. I love Chiv 2. Been playing either Officer with the heavy mace or Devastator with the war club lately. The war club is actually really fkn fast and has incredibly long range. It's not a great weapon in the grand scheme of things but I get kills with it. The heavy mace has pretty good speed too even if the range isn't as good. Officer is such a good class. I'm getting better at nailing people with my throwing knives and reacting to enemy behavior as well. Would be nice to play more but real life is more demanding.

Never played any other medieval slasher but Mordhau was on sale for like 8 bux so I bought that and I'll try it tonight. I expect to be raped by the Mordhau vets but that's how it goes in this genre.

Thanks for reading my blog.

Where is it getting hot? These laptops are easy to disassemble, I've worked on a couple. You only need to remove a few screws and need a credit card/spreader or long nails to pop open the case. You should open it and clean it and make sure the heat is coming from something that actually should be producing heat and not from a short.

I see, it's held together with phillips screws. It's cooking at the top rear right in front of the screen.

IIRC that's the CPU, you should pop the lid off and clean out the fan and make sure there's no obvious corrosion or anything looking crispy.
I'm trying to pry it open with a guitar pick but so far it's not working.

Nvm I just had to really get up in there with it.
I see my previous blowing from the outside was ineffective.20231226_131841.jpg
And the metal bottom plate is suspiciously colorful.

Yea there's your problem.

Clean out that fan and you might be alright. If you're still having problems afterwards you might have to pop the heatsink and replace the thermal pads/K5, which is a bit of a pain in the ass but doable for sure. From that plate it definitely looks like it's been cooking pretty high.

Yeah I think that would be a good idea because the temperature is still hovering around 175 degrees when I'm playing sprocket.

Good lord that is grody. Did you get everything out? You could try to run it without the bottom panel on and propped up on something just to see if thermals gets down to normal. And when you say 175 you mean fahrenheit, right?

Yeah I scraped the fan out with a toothpick, it's looking a lot better and it's noticeably quieter. Until I get the stuff together to fix my cooling system I've got the computer sitting on a box fan to keep it below boiling.

A toothpick with some rubbing alcohol dripped on a thin piece of cloth(cut your underwear to pieces) would probably work very well to get rid of the sticky residue. Be very careful if using compressed air on fans though, you need to hold them in place with your fingers or else the canned air might make spin insanely fast and they'll break.

Just recently started playing Valkyria Chronicles and, frankly, if someone said to me a few years ago that this was actually anime WW2 where you can recruit cute kike gals, bloodthirsty tomboys, kike haters, misandrist lesbians & literal child soldiers to kill & die for you then I would've picked this game in a heartbeat.

I made a big mistake of deciding to try out the demo for Factorio a few days ago on Christmas day. I now own the full thing and have have spent almost 20 hours in total playtime and several hours of watching videos that explain efficient methods of setup. This was 3-4 days ago and its too good.
