So apparently many people thought you could use game discs for the Series S. Microsoft did not mark the box clearly enough.

However you can rig it up to accept discs with daisy chaining
I remember something similar happening when the psp go came out, people buying games thinking they could use them

Gran Turismo 7's 1.07 update pretty much was a middle finger to their player base, as it nerfed the credit payouts on most of the races:

The Fisherman's Ranch race was the most effective way to grind for credits, but the payout has been nerfed to the ground, to obviously tempt players to paying for credits, in a manner very similar to EA and 2K's Sports games.

There was also a problem with the patch deployment, so maintenance is still going on. And since GT7 is an always-online game, that means that players are left twiddling their thumbs, waiting to see if the servers ever come back up.

The game's Metacritic rating is also dropping like a rock, first due to Russian players being blocked from playing the game, and now because of this disastrous patch:

Even GT content creators are not happy with these changes:

Some people are even comparing this mess-up to Battlefield 2042 or Cyberpunk 2077, although it's still a stretch to say that GT7 is a BF2042-level shitshow, yet.

There also appears to be other design choices in GT7 that are based around needing to buy credits or grind for them, such as being unable to undo a wide-body modification, which means that you'd have to buy another car if you want to change that. Also, you can't sell cars at all, compared to past games, and there's no Auction House feature that the Forza games have. Also, apparently applying another player's livery onto your car costs credits too, which is a very odd thing to see, since the Forza games don't charge credits to do that. And some of the upgrades, i.e. engine swaps, are locked away behind the roulettes, meaning that you have to praise the RNG Gods to get the upgrade you want, and make sure that it's for a car that you want to use.

All in all, maybe the supply chain issues, to the point that you have to sell grandma's organs to get a PS5, was a blessing after all, as I was tempted to get a PS5 just to play GT7, but that didn't happen.

And GT7's downtime broke the 24-hour mark, with still no information from PD as to what is taking so long.

Looks like Gran Turismo devs became War Thunder devs. I guess all good franchises must come to a rest.

And it got even worse. A new patch, 1.08, was deployed, and the servers did come back up so people could play the game again. Then GT7's director, Kazunori Yamauchi, made this statement about the extended downtime, and the credit nerfs:

This statement is just as bad as Battlefront 2's "we want players to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment", Battlefield 2042's "brutal expectations", and Blizzard's "do you not have phones?" quotes.

And the game is getting absolutely assfucked in the Metacritic user rating.

Christ, not even WoT is as bad as this. It's amusing how online games often shift when it comes to which game is shit and which game became shittier.

Also, the Japs made this? Wow, who knew the Genshit devs (Chinks) weren't the only Jew-wannabe devs of the industry.

I blame business schools for this. As soon as the game becomes popular, a group of useless 'entrepreneurs' come in with their useless business degrees, and they do the thing they have been thought to do; minimize costs, maximize profits. Nothing matters anymore, except the numbers on paper, so the game suffers, the developers suffer, and the games fail, while the business people get a fancy new big name to add to their CV and keep failing upwards.

It's sounding like they're trying to turn it into a car racing MMO, time will tell if this happens because the game is always online so new patches and changes can happen at the whim of the developers.

On the other hand they're also teasing a new Sly Cooper and other shit. Twisted Metal WAS going to be some Online only thing but then they pulled it from the developers to rework it to be supposedly more like the original games.

They're trying to create something on par with Genshin Impact and Fortnite because those are huge revenue streams for playstation. That's why they listed 10 live service games as in development and bought bungie, because they're going to be throwing a ton of things at the wall to see what sticks.

Fortnite itself was a usurper once when Playerunknown Battlegrounds was a huge thing, Epic reworked the game from a team based shooter to a stylized BR clone and then it conquered the genre.

Finally cleared enough time to make a start with Like A Dragon, and oh my god I'm kicking myself for not getting into this earlier. Its an absolutely incredible experience.

I've been genuinely drawn into the story, and love Ichiban. I'm only chapter 5 but he's already developed and grown on me. Feels like this is an ideal time to pause the main story and get my teeth into the side content.

Ichiban best Dragon Quest sperg.

I really like Capcom's current strategy of doing one off sequels to their classic retro franchises. Mega Man 11 is pretty damn fun even if the visuals feel sparse and I can't praise Ghost and Goblins Resurrected enough. Even if you just liked the old games you should really try that one out.

I just wonder what's going on at their HQ that they refuse to make a new Mega Man X. Do it with the same high class visual flourish that G&GR has and I'd pay $60 happily for that.

Earlier spergout aside, Atelier Sophie 2 is fun as fuck. Even for someone as braindead as me, I can still get the alchemy portion just fine due to how well they've paced adding new mechanics in. I haven't even reached the volcano area yet because I've been wandering around in search of new materials and steadily crafting the higher tier of gathering tools.

Also, does anyone have the Risk of Rain 2 expansion? I haven't touched the base game since early access and I'm contemplating going back to it.

What bothers me is that they couldn't get the real dragon quest shit in there. It's so fucking close like 9.5 out of the 10ths of the way there. Just shell out the extra money to Square or something because having an RPG about an RPG works.
For dragon quest they probably ask the big shekels. I know yakuza ain't small but I don't know if it's buy DQ rights big.
