Are videogames for children?

It looks like if Dante's Inferno was on the Shovel Knight engine.
Haven't played Shovel Knight, so can't comment. I stick by "Faxanadu cosplaying as Castlevania"

Maybe they could fix the ugly models that look like a chinese phone game?
Naah!
That's not fair. Adavance Wars predates Chinese phone games, at least as we know them. If anything the copying happened the other direction and also your PFP is so fucking cute

I'm no fan of spiders, but these honest-to-God arachnophobes are some of the most annoying motherfuckers out there.
I'm married to one, and despite her being the love of my life and the one person that I would flay a motherfucker and dump their body in a mineshaft for, she knows I don't give a fuck if me playing EDF 5 or Resident Evil triggers that in her.

Though actually getting a pet spider is her line in the sand; I do that and she says she's buying the fattest ass constrictor snake she can legally get to trigger my ophidiophobia.

Advance Wars is part of the Wars series and it goes back to the 80's. The name stuck because it was released in the west for the GBA as Advance Wars and had some success. Previous to that the titles were [Nintendo platform] Wars.

I realize just know that I misread your post but using backspace is for losers so I'm pressing "post".

Started playing Guardians Of The Galaxy for a lark to see if it was actually as decent as some people were saying. So far yeah it's pretty good. Not amazing but for capeshit it's pretty solid and not nearly as reddit as the movies or trailers made it out to be. Also surprising to see a western game with actually attractive women, fat jokes, and a "did you assume their gender" joke.

A semi-secret, super boss in Elden Ring is a gay rapist with a desire to seduce and groom someone in the body of a six year old child.

FROM secretly based?
They've had shit like that since Dark Souls and what happens to Gwyndolyn.

I mean he also gets overtaken and absorbed in 3.

Also Demon's Souls and that Phalanx was actually a woman. It's why there's the female dark spirit later on in the stage. All 3 of those dark spirits represent the bosses you fought. You can even see their spirit forms briefly appear when you kill each boss.

Not really. Fallout: New Vegas had an entire faction that was /pol/ cosplaying as Romans, complete with accusing anyone not with them of being "degenerates". Noone accused Bethesda of being based....

Welp looks like Sophie 2 is joining the ranks of Nelke, Lulua, and the ass end of the original dusk(Shalie) and mysterious trilogy(L&S) of being very lukewarm to below average installments.

People don't seem to like it and it got double whammied by better RPGs out there like Horizon and Elden Ring and Final Fantasy Origins is coming up soon.

Just like you claimed earlier that Koei Tecmo faced backlash over the "awful" japanese voice-acting in Atelier Sophie 2 but it was just a survey from the US branch of Koei Tecmo asking if there were anyone interested in english dubbing in the Atelier games. You gonna need actual sources of your claims instead of pulling shit out of your ass once again, you pathological liar & larper. And how awfully convenient that a sony fanboy is trying to list PS5 games as the "better games" too.

I sure haven't finished Atelier Sophie 2 yet (reached the volcano part so far) but it's a much better game than Atelier Ryza 1 by comparison (which wasn't a bad game per se but defintively not up to the other Ateliers mechanically and in terms of personality). The alchemy system is a lot more engaging with the block grid and it went back to turn-based battles for the better (instead of using the retarded ATB where normal attacks with the shortest animations mattered the most to win, upgrading the speed stat was literally useless).

Also Sophie 2 did manage to kick my ass a couple of times during story & side boss fights because I didn't synthesize items well enough

I've been on a 3DS/DS kick lately, are The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks worth checking out?

Never played them before, and I'm not sure if I like the idea of games controlled with the stylus only.

Sophie is on playstation as well, it's just a lukewarm RPG. People are just not warming up to it as much as the previous ones for a few reasons. That and they're still frontloading DLC while making questionable changes to shit.

Most of Gust's audience at this point are westerners. Who voiced their displeasure across many channels.

People want shit in their own language, anime games are mainstream at this point it's not a a surprise. You even had NIS roll out it's new branding already so both their branches have a unified styled logo so people realize that NISA and Nippon Ichi Software are the same.

It's not surprising at all that you're only parroting whatever crap in english a few random people on the Internet said to label it as your own "opinion" and "gospel truth", instead of actually playing videogames. As usual. But it gets really tiring in the long run considering you always refuse to learn from your mistakes and yet to drop off the larping, by either ignoring whatever has been said and making a faux self-aware ironic joke. With your amount of 17.5k posts no less, that's more in the scale of sheer insanity than mere trolling.

And no, Sophie 2 is the proof itself that Atelier's main demographic remains the japanese themselves since Sophie is still the most popular character of the franchise according to the most recent japanese poll (she won in the previous other poll too). People in the West were busier to cream over Ryza's charac design despite it was literally the sole merit of her first game.

Speaking as such, Ryza 1 was way too easy to the point that it didn't encourage me to go out my way in synthesizing stronger items with better effects, as I could always just roll out fights by rising the AP number with normal attacks (and then quickly increase the Tactics level to make said normal attacks obtain more chain combos). The item rebuild part also made most of the alchemy completely trivial. And it was impossible to play on higher difficulties for a first playthrough, unlike Sophie 2 that gives you the different options right at a fresh start (and which can be altered during said first playthrough if things get too easy or hard for someone).

The fun of Atelier is getting your ass handed by a boss then having to go back and gather materials and craft the best equipment you can. That and the party/side characters interactions in an anime slice-of-life setting, in which Ryza 1 was also really lacking a fuckton. I ended up not caring for any of the characters so this made my interest in Ryza fade away even more. Meanwhile, I do enjoy the redhair merchant girl and her jewish hijinks as well as most characters in Sophie 2.

So if you want to actually talk about a lukewarm and barebones Atelier game, it's Ryza 1 in spite of its past "popularity". Not Atelier Sophie 2 which has yet to show the same exuberant flaws to me so far (at the very worst, it's a bit easy to replicate crafted items in exchange for a sum of money, and the gems/alternate grid panel introduced much later get rid of the overlapped blocks disappearing during alchemy sessions). Ryza 1 was barely qualifying as an Atelier game so it wouldn't surprise me if a few people who started with that one had issues with Sophie 2 afterwards, which is much closer to the classic Ateliers both in tone and game mechanics.

You do have some nerves anyway to compare an Atelier game to the latest PS5 AAA releases which have nothing in common except the genre category they may officially share. Again, I'm not expecting you to actually talk about the gameplay in detail of the Ateliers so my long post only serves for other users.

Yes that's what genres are and that's why people compare individual games in them, because they share related mechanics. People compared ARPGs to turn based all the time.

Both Sophie games and Ryza games require you to synth everything in the end for a full catalogue, the synth systems for both are just basically a trade off when it comes to individual mechanics because they both wind up serving the same purpose. They're honestly around equal when it comes to maxing out quality too.

You're just confirming my previous statement that you cannot talk in detail and exactitude about the Atelier games without making yourself look like a retarded larper who actually never touched the games. Just nothing more than vague claims.

Item quality barely matters in Atelier Sophie 2 since its alchemy system is about filling the grid with specific colored blocks and linking star blocks together in order to unlock more bars for better effects. It's literally not the same as Ryza 1 where quality actually did matter to unlock stuff and for the Item Rebuild.
