I’ve said this before, but the more you play these games, the more it reminds me you of this Shaggy classic.

How do you guys handle working through your gaming backlogs? Half the time I spend more time trying to decide which of the billion games there are to play than actually playing. First world problem, yes, but still annoying.

Why?

A college roommate had a copy of the first game, and as shameless and kinda basic as it was, I enjoyed it better than any of the fighting games. Fite me irl.
The Shaggy song has a sunny, flirty and fun atmosphere to it. Much like the beach activities, I can imagine Kasumi or Lei Fang dancing to it for some reason. :lit:

I don't.
but seriously, the problem for me isn't starting games but finishing them. maybe it's because I got more lazy, more picky or it might be the games itself, but most of them don't "capture" me like they did before.

nips man, they just know how to do it:

I kinda unironically love that theme song, and the Swedish lady who sings it is quite a bae herself if you don't mind 3D.

good luck getting that out of your head:

remember reading she wasn't the biggest fan they used her song, no idea if it's made up bs. if true I blame it more on the fact that the west doesn't really have an equivalent concept to gravure anymore, so anything remotely exposing skin gets shoved into the softcore porn corner.

I just pick one and give it my undivided attention until it's done. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get immersed in and crush through a game you're otherwise having a hard time getting into just by allowing yourself to let it absorb your life for a few hours.

The Supreme Court ruled that it's unconstitutional to work through your gaming backlog.

Just pick that looks good at the time and play it until i finish it. If i get bored/don;t enjoy it after a couple of hours i just abandon it.

Starting a bunch of stuff at one time means you'll finish nothing and playing through shite to "get to the good bits" is a waste of time.

Yeah I have posted about it before and it's true*, Tecmo licensed it maybe through a Japanese agency, I don't remember, and who cares about that it's going to be used the side of the world in 2002-2003? But "Big In Japan" is a real thing here and maybe the label saw some inroads through this.

Anyway, Meja is a feminist and was both shocked and not amused by the use of her song front and center in DoA:Extreme(including the trailer at E3). She did not want her song to become the face of that, but I don't think her grievance ever reached the public or the media. Take that as you will. Vidya in general(2003?) was still pretty dork virgin loser man territory as well, but that's just me editorializing.

*Don't want to powerlevel but I know this because the professional music scene was small, lots of jobbers doing all kinds of work for many producers and acts. Absolutely 100% treat this as speculation or Marissa Mori bullshit but I have no reason to think the people that told me this, at that time, were lying.

I really like installer repacks that come with pirated games. They always have a simple UI, some neat flair and music that is balls-deep.

Installers in general... some companies really went the extra mile and made them interesting. But that has mostly died off now that everything is done through third party clients.

So many songs from the soundtrack are stuck in my head and have this Pavlovian response where I feel like I'm 13 again.

"If it don't FIT! Don't wear it!"

Unfortunately I kinda played myself into a corner and 75% of my current games are all 80+ hour open world games so it's incredibly daunting when I want to start actually beating games.

God, that takes me back. Pirated installer chiptunes were something else. RELOADED, in particular, had some anthems.

Reelism 2 is some of the most fun I've had with a game. I'm going to eventually get burned out because ultimately you can only do so much with a simple horde mode shooter but man is it funny. I haven't even beaten a single standard 5 Level Stage but I don't mind it because it's just so stupidly funny.

>Wizards spawn who will shout "MAGIC MISSILE" in the cheesiest voice possible.
>Good runs always give you some reprieve when a stage will only spawn harmless "Felt Puppets" who will constantly say silly phrases like "I fool children into believing I'm alive"
>When Cacodemons spawn there will be Cacodemons that have goofy Mario legs which never cease to amuse me.
>My runs get fucked when my screen is swarmed with BEES and it's so stupid it's great.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's just so much stupid stuff. If some indie studio wants to make easy stupid money just take this concept and add Multiplayer. If you're one who loathes any form of LOLSORANDOM humor this might not be your cup of tea but for me it's an insanely good timewaster.
