Are videogames for children?

I just saw the most retarded take on videogame devving on youtube watching a dude talk about victoria 3, more or less to the tune of "aren't we lucky we get to help the devs create a game?" I hope he was paid by paradox for that spicy take because if he wasn't and people do really think that I'd be happy getting a cyanide IV. We've gone from free helpers to paying for the privilege of fixing it.

WOAOEUH DOOD I SURE LOVE GAMING NOW BRO

You should take a look at the people teaching game dev college courses. Last time I did that I was horrified. Stylistic choices aside it perfectly explains games like ME:Andromeda and the dev complaints before and after release.

That's just fucking tragic I don't want a repeat of all this stank because they brainwashed zoomies into believing that having what you paid for is just make-believe.

Spent a few hours playing Shadows Over Loathing, last night. I had a lot of fun with it. Unsurprising, since I enjoyed the fuck out of West of Loathing. As you can probably guess from the title, it's a "Lovecraftian Horror" setting. I put that in quotes, because it's still a comedy game. It works pretty well, though.

Anyway, it's only $20, so give it a try when you have some free time.

Interesting chat I had with someone today. Every fucking time I order from Play Asia, the same thing happens. It either instantly gets delayed or goes from HK to Taiwan and back to Shenzhen (which is next to Hong Kong. It needlessly adds time to my delivery, even when I've paid and UPS refuses to detail anything about the issue.

Apparently -
Very interesting comment from someone online about your Hong Kong services and why my package is delayed

> That’s a China UPS issue not a generalized issue with UPS Dealt with that a lot in my old job. Generally what happened was government pressure to prioritize “vip” cargo and overworked staff to basically fumble any other type of package Usually when it you see bounce back and forth like that it was basically just left at one facility and to not risk their mistake getting seen, they say it went to X sent to Y then back to X, for about 2 weeks before anything happens From a customer only side it’s impossible to deal with. I had to contact our company account representative who would then contract the branch manager for that region to get anything going; and again that was after we saw it fumbling for at least 2 weeks, since they won’t help and say things like “ you do realize it takes a while for international packages right” like I haven’t deal with it for years lol

So basically my package is delayed becuase UPS felt like shipping "more important" packages. so I'm stuck waiting while they refuse to update or help me.

Fucking chinks. I used to buy from Play Asia a lot when I lived in Hong Kong, but knowing that my shipping is getting shoved aside so some CCP cunts get their packages faster makes my fucking blood boil.

Haha, damn!
I knew that Yuji Naka was having a big flameout after decades of him silently being a cunt but this is more than I bargained for.

Tell me about Ninja Gaiden. The master collection for switch looks interesting. The But I am hearing negative reception?

Having played it recently they have improved it and most of the complaints people had at release are gone. Played it on PC though so I'm focusing on gameplay changes.

BUT! The first two games are the Sigma versions and that's the PS3 version. There's apparently nothing particularly wrong with Ninja Gaiden Sigma but Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma(Sigma 2?) is different, they had to vastly reduce the amount of enemies in that one since the PS3 couldn't handle it. They then tweaked the difficulty of enemy encounters making them tougher which makes them feel a bit damage spongey. The pure carnage of the original is reduced.

Three new chapters in 2, that's good, they changed the upgrade system, that's bad. You collect karma which you use in the shop but there's no longer anything to spend it on so you'll just be sitting on tons of currency. Instead the game gives you free upgrades for the weapons so they will all be maxed out at the end unless you willingly pass by the conveniently located upgrade statues. But unlike the 360 version you can cannot sink all your karma into maxing out a weapon as early as possible, upgrades are now gated by progression and this is a bit annoying.
One new weapon, easy to miss, boss on that level is new and fucking sucks. The new bosses all suck because they're the same reskinned boss.
They changed and tweaked other things as well but those are the ones that stood out to me.

This only applies to 2 which was the game I wanted to play. The camera is the same as the original which means it is absolutely horrible.

Ninja Gaiden 3 was a multiplat port and the included version is Razor's Edge which apparently fixes a bunch of things(never played the original).

I noticed Vampire Survivors hit game pass, and I'm really struggling to understand the appeal. I either die in two minutes because nothing good dropped, or I become ludicrously overpowered and spend thirty minutes waiting for the reaper to kill me.

I dunno. Just can't get a handle on it.

being overpowered in the game is great. i love watching my game drop to 3fps as i try to kill the literal hundreds of sprites on my screen 28 minutes into a run

In gaming news that absolutely no one was expecting, Little Inferno has gotten new christmas DLC made for the first time in 10 years:

I realize this is a satirical article, but actually reading the article tells me someone is still really really pissy about Rittenhouse being found not guilty.
I can understand satire but it almost seems like it's claiming he shot fleeing, unarmed targets which is not true. Wouldn't be surprised if this is deleted quickly.

They are. There’s more to the article where it’s very apparent the writer just wants to call him an evil killing murderer but doesn’t have the balls to do so in a way that would get them sued.

As heinous as Kyle's crimes are it's not nearly as bad as american folk hero Fentanyl Floyd who shot and killed a pregnant woman and was not charged with it because under Democratic law the act of killing a baby automatically made him a healthcare provider.

I like 8BitDo. Their controllers are high quality stuff.
I have one single issue though. One fatal flaw which really fucks you about.

Their compatibility.

This is pretty much a solved problem. Xinput and Bluetooth controllers have existed for well over a decade. It's not hard to get this shit right.
...so why do all their new controllers support so few systems?!

I bought a Zero 2 from them. It's a cheap but nice little pocket sized device and works with every single system you could think of.
The same cannot be said for the SN40 pro and the ultimate wired controller. Both are extremely well made pieces of kit but both have extremely limited system support.
The SN40 pro supports Android only. You'd think that the ultimate wired controller would just be a standard Xinput USB ...but no!
Not only does it require Windows 10, it requires a specific update!

Ironically, the gimmicky budget controller that came out earlier has the best support. What the fuck happened?!
My only theory is that this has something to do with the Microsoft partnership but it's still baffling.
