Tell me about Ninja Gaiden. The master collection for switch looks interesting. The But I am hearing negative reception?
Having played it recently they have improved it and most of the complaints people had at release are gone. Played it on PC though so I'm focusing on gameplay changes.
BUT! The first two games are the Sigma versions and that's the PS3 version. There's apparently nothing particularly wrong with Ninja Gaiden Sigma but Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma(Sigma 2?) is different, they had to vastly reduce the amount of enemies in that one since the PS3 couldn't handle it. They then tweaked the difficulty of enemy encounters making them tougher which makes them feel a bit damage spongey. The pure carnage of the original is reduced.
Three new chapters in 2, that's good, they changed the upgrade system, that's bad. You collect karma which you use in the shop but there's no longer anything to spend it on so you'll just be sitting on tons of currency. Instead the game gives you free upgrades for the weapons so they will all be maxed out at the end unless you willingly pass by the conveniently located upgrade statues. But unlike the 360 version you can cannot sink all your karma into maxing out a weapon as early as possible, upgrades are now gated by progression and this is a bit annoying.
One new weapon, easy to miss, boss on that level is new and fucking sucks. The new bosses all suck because they're the same reskinned boss.
They changed and tweaked other things as well but those are the ones that stood out to me.
This only applies to 2 which was the game I wanted to play. The camera is the same as the original which means it is absolutely horrible.
Ninja Gaiden 3 was a multiplat port and the included version is Razor's Edge which apparently fixes a bunch of things(never played the original).
