I beat mega man 1 (with significant problems) and am almost done with mega man 2 and for some god damn reason all of the weaknesses seem to be all fucked up.
Air man got gibbed to shit by the mega buster and the leaves just bounced off. Why? What for?
Leaf Shield IS Air Man's weakness. The problem is actually hitting him with Leaf Shield.

Leaf Shield WILL bounce off of his air projectiles. Especially if one of them happens to spawn INSIDE of his sprite.

Yeah but I swear the mega buster was doing like 4 or 5 damage to him
I got the same answer from the discussion forum on steam and I'm just so confused by it.
Maybe I'm losing it, who knows

EDIT: Nvm LOOK AT THAT

Dogg I don't wanna put you on blast, but you should really delete that post. Your Steam profile is public and it gives a first name and state. Shit is way too creepy these days to be this lax on your privacy.

Plus we have this thread: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/the-easy-to-track-username-hall-of-shame.104753/
Look at the comments on his KF profile. He already self-advertises his Twitch and other streaming platforms. He's one of those internet retards with zero opsec and I'm surprised someone hasn't done a deep dive on him already.

EDIT: In fact, here's a few more links of interest given that they easily show up from a Google search.

I didn't recognize I was showing my steam profile in that post though?
I just wanted to talk about the games.

Entirely fair.

I also haven't really made a post like that in awhile, outside of maybe the music thread with soundcloud stuff.
I appreciate you both letting me know it's bad etiquette and unsafe though.

Literally one of the big things you're warned about in the disclaimer for signing up for the Farms is to NOT use the same username, let alone credentials, that you use anywhere else on the internet. It should be quite clear by this point, especially given how the Farms is currently being blackholed yet again by a Tier 1 service provider, that the Farms and its users are to be despised by the public at large. Not to mention that it opens yourself up to whatever cringe shit you may get up to elsewhere on the internet to be discovered by the userbase here, documented, and mocked.

Of course, that doesn't seem to stop a number of Farms regulars all the same, because any attention is good attention by their logic, so you do you.

You mentioned posting on the Steam discussion forum and attached a GIF of exactly which Steam game, so I just checked there, and lo and behold, there you are with your cherry red ass hanging out. I would have PM'd you, but you have PMs off.

Oh, my bad.
I'll remove my name and location from that shit.

Managed to complete over 50 games in 2022, though the vast majority were started before that and just ended last year. Going for 51 at least this year, though I mostly just want to finish the dozens of games I started but never beat so I can go into new stuff with a clean slate.

just finished High On Life. Awesome game if you like hearing Justin Roiland rambling about nonsensical shit, which I do. Very similar vibe as Trover

You know, I think this year I am going to start playing games that have actual endings. Last year I played a lot of open ended games like DBD, Euro Truck Simulator, Forza, ect.

It's MMOs and open world games that got me. Hard to feel like you're making any progress with a backlog when you've got 10+ different 80-200 hour games going.

So Limited Run fired a community manager because some furry tranny got butt hurt about one of their tweets from 2016 and because they follow Libs of Tiktok. LR put out a tweet about how they "respect all opinions, however...." and are getting so destroyed in the replies they they disabled them. What a bunch of fucking pussies.

I wonder if that's who MVG ( Modern Vintage Gamer ) replaced. He was working for Nughtdive and recently left and went to LRG.

I used to watch his stuff on YouTube occasionally until he revealed himself as a Byuu fanboy.

Here's a long effortpost I made where I called out MVG for being shady as hell: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/retro-games-and-emulation.30435/page-40#post-10577251
MVG struck me as a disingenuous shill a long while back and I don't quite remember how. I think it might've had something to do with the fact that he kept self-advertising his prior modding career, the growing trend of him advertising some thing or another that he was quite blatantly directly partnered with, certain things he sensationalized that ended up being a whole lot of nothing, the fact that his videos were seeming more and more like they were made to fit the YouTube length criteria for monetization, and probably the final nail in the coffin, how eager he was to brag about being an "actual" video game developer when he worked with Nightdive and, another time, on the OG Shantae (I think that was the game) port.

I don't watch much of his new content but I still enjoy the guy. That he ported some of the emulators I used on Xbox was fun to hear, but when he talked about porting that N64 emulator it sounded like he invented the memory manager(to prevent fragmentation of memory iirc). It was presented as a novel solution they came up with but that's been a staple since forever out of necessity, especially in anything that intends to use as much RAM as possible.

High on Life was alright but the gunplay was really unsatisfying, no matter what I used.

It was still an enjoyable little game that hit a spot but I'll forget I've ever played it in a few years time (like Sunset Overdrive) and I have no incentive to autistically comb the map for collectables just so I can say I've 100%ed it.

Clout-chasing YouTubers: "OMG GARTEN OF BANBAN IS SO SCARY!!1111"

Garth DeAngelis, senior producer at Firaxis, announced on Twitter this Monday that he was leaving the company after 14 years. Given that he helped bring XCOM back in its new form, this might end up being bad news for fans holding out for XCOM 3, though lead designer for the games, Jake Solomon, still seems to be working there, and he (among others) posted a farewell to DeAngelis, stating that XCOM (and Midnight Suns) couldn't have happened without him.

Midnight Suns is the Marvel turn-based strategy game that Firaxis released on the 1st of December, and while it received some critical success, user scores are mixed, usually citing the egregious microtransaction cash-shop (similar to the ones in 2K's other published titles, such as their NBA series) or the poor level of optimization and bugs. The game launched on PC and current-gen consoles, but I don't believe the date for the planned Switch/Xbone/PS4 release has been announced. After only a month, the game is already on sale for 33% off, which, given the Steamchart data on number of peak/concurrent players, likely points to a poor financial performance overall, echoing Square Enix's disappointing sales for their Avengers game a couple years ago, and what feels like a general growing malaise regarding Marvel and Disney IPs as a whole (might just be me reading into it, though, so take it with a grain of salt.)

While it may have just been DeAngelis riding out this project and making sure it shipped before taking a previously-planned leave, I wouldn't be surprised if he was privy to some writing on the wall after the reception and sales of XCOM: Chimera Squad and then Midnight Suns and with 2K's increasingly money-grubbing nature. I won't be too alarmist and say XCOM is dead, but I would keep an eye out to see if Jake Solomon suddenly jumps ship. Not a great start to the year for Firaxis, it feels like.
